[2023 Six Nations] England v France 11 March 2023. Kickoff 16:45

Borthwick was the safe choice and safe isn't enough to salvage this England team before the World Cup unfortunately.

Good call Ramos motm
All their big players turned up today. DuPont and I also thought Danty returning made a big impact in midfield. They just made far fewer errors than England which just made tonnes of today.

English rugby is in meltdown. National team quite possibly the worst it's ever been. Clubs going bust. RFU has absolutely no vision.

Borthwick was a bad choice. Don't think anyone genuinely thought he was ready or had shown enough to be head coach. Doesn't matter whether he's willing to drop Farrell as he's done almost nothing to fix the issues that England have had.

I'd like to say it would be a wakeup call and that we have been slipping for a long time but I think English rugby as a whole could sleep through a nuclear bomb right now. The same problems have been there for years and never been addressed.

Looks like far from building a new golden generation, we are going into an era similar to after 2003, just without the good bits beforehand. Across the board this is the worst England have been that I can think of since then. So many "worst ever" records have been set by England in the past 10 years, now another to add to the tally. If it wasn't for the fact I have a friend coming to visit, for the first time I wouldn't even bother watching the last game. Turned this off after 30 mins when it was clear we were ******.

Reckon England's backs generally looked okay. Not sure the system is though? Scrummaging, meh. Acceptable, managed to change momentum and get pens before end of game decline with replacements.

Collisions, carrying and breakdown work? Particularly second and back row individuals and coaching have to be questioned there IMO. Dan Cole being one of the most visible players for his work rate during the last quarter was very telling.

France outstanding. Very obvious they have everything to their game, including the psychology. Brilliant and good to watch.

Honestly I don't think it matters. 4 years ago we had a team full of international to world class players the ones we still have, have dropped below that bar.

We'll never know, might have had a plan today until got a very hard French punch in the face.

I didn't realise how good Danty was until today. Though he did play more like a flanker than a centre.
Exactly what we are missing, a back that can do the work of a loose forward. At least we might have someone to resource rucks

Having listened to the headache-inducing Nick Mullins for an hour and an half whilst the best commentator in the country was sent to Rome, ITV are now asking Maggie Alphonsi to sum up what went wrong - the final insult.
