2023-2024 transfers

Worth noting that the headline is way more sensational than the actual text - I should know better than to read a rugbypass headline and not actually fact check it.

Though Dimes does still have a history of criticising players who want to move elsewhere to further their career and paycheck.

Meh, I get it - must be frustrating developing players on a budget and them then leaving for bigger money, and likely less game time, elsewhere

Part of the job of running a poorer club, sure, but still gonna be very annoying and really hamper development plans moving forwards.
I'd rather people be honest in interviews, what's he meant to say? "Oh we're so honoured to be developing players for everyone else, please keep taking them off us"

Your spot on.

Yes we're a feeder club, we have no money. Players will leave the second others come calling and whilst most falcon fans are totally used to it, sometimes you just can't help being a bit bitter and peed off with it when it happens. This is probably the first time he's really experienced this with us now ..Blamire away , Radwan away and now a young Uni recruit who's been here for one season moves on.

Reminds me of Will Haydon Wood just starting to claim the 10 spot then left to go sit on the bench and play in the Wasps reserves. Before they went bust. Hugely frustrating...

Len Ikitau signing for Exeter on a 9 month deal, its option of a second year if Aus don't offer him a deal, also has clauses that means he will only miss one international test this year looking at it

Roar also reporting Exeter after Jake Gordan
Where do your clubs get the money for these guys, honestly? That said, the sooner all your clubs go bankrupt splurging dosh they don't have on 'marquee' signings the sooner only French and Japanese clubs poach our players.

I expect we'll see a lot more of these sabatical typed deals given RA are unable to keep up with the ever inflating salary market (**** knows why its inflating - rugby's popularity and profitability certainly fucken aren't).

Felix Jones back to the Boks. Feels like a missed opportunity from the IRFU, there are/were top provincial roles going in each province. Probably doesn't fit into the national team set up right now admittedly.

Pollard to the Bulls
Dude has some moments of class, but with a bidding war Tigers where never going to push hard for him I feel.

Shame Shillcock is leaving also though as he is a class back up

Seen some people say Anscombe is out of contract this season, not sure if that's true? Maybe Tigers could get him for a year while they bring through a youngster?

Atkinson was rubbish for them last time round, and think they shipped him off mid-season? Not sure either party would be overly keen for that - though he does look a far more settled player now, and if he's not getting the game time at Gloucester...

Marcus Street to Saracens. It would be great if they could get him to make good on his early potential.

Having another good sized, technically proficient scrummaging tighthead in contention for England would be very handy.

Ruaridh McConnochie to Falcons on the cards. Interesting one, Bath have barely used him
The vultures are circling...

More seriously though, he's just been overtaken by Muir and Cokanasiga - he's a 33 year old winger, so it's not really surprising.
Has been the integral senior member of the PRC squad though - still a good brain and good skill set, just lost pace (which was never his strong point anyway).
I think most of us were surprised when he extended last year.

Think that'd be a good pickup for Falcons - watching them this season it does feel like they need an older/experienced head in the backline
In an ideal world you'd probably want it at 9 or 10, but as long as they're in the huddle it'd be a boost
