[2021 Six Nations] Ireland v England (20/03/2021)

EDIT: unnecessary from me. Sorry.

I find it hard to believe you are being serious.
The charger goes low and you cant always get to other parts of his body because the head is low and he comes first.
In some cases you have two, and only two options. Either you let him pass a bit and try to get him after the head goes past you, which is silly as it gives the ball carrier a huge momentum benefit or you have to touch part of his shoulders/neck/head.

And the problem is not the change of height. The problem is the ball carrier starts low and continues being low. It's like a battering ram. The change in position is not the problem. The position of the charger itself is.

And, and here is the kicker, if you go low enough to go under, odds are you trip him, his legs go around the horizontal, land on his face and you get carded.

I understand we need to protect players, but you need to do so in a way that gives tacklers a chance. This ain't it.

Show me one tackling coach that teaches players to go to the ankles against a player that is charging you. Just one.
If this is such a huge unavoidable issue how do teams ever manage to keep all 15 players on the pitch for the full 80.

So Eddie Jones plan was to make sure we didn't suffer a huge slump in form the year after the WC so instead we could have it 2 years after? As I said, this is 2018 all over again, a year of poor performances but winning papering over before all the cracks are made obvious to all the following year as we lose games and Jones comes up with bullshit excuses.

for the excuses about rebuilding etc, before England won the WC they had won the 6N 3/4 times, come 2nd on the time they didn't win, were scoring tries for fun and frequently beating the best in the world for that whole 4 year period. We are not half way through the cycle and at the worst we have been in ages.

Well, that was no surprise, completely outplayed again. Nicely done by Ireland.

Now the really exciting bit as an England supporter, listening to the excuses as to why we actually won, really.

I do apologise to the Irish fans for the utter tripe you're about to hear from Mr. Jones.

You English posters are lucky I like you otherwise I'd be an even more graceless arsehole about this. Great performance from us though. We have a ways to go.etc and have key pieces to replace but that's a great bit of progress from us and the game plan was spot on

Is that your round about way of saying you have no Welsh heritage?

Fair play to Johnny keeping a straight face while commenting about winning against "one of the best teams in the world"

So that's presumably Itoje out of the running for Lions captain, if he was ever in it. AWJ it is.
