[2021 Six Nations] England vs France (13/03/21)

Maybe too soon to predict this could be a great French side to finally win the big prize - still two years to go and a lot to improve. Faded in the second half. Pressure of a home World Cup could get to them. Haven't really been put under real pressure and yet to play the big two of NZ and SA.

Like to see possession stats for that second half. Think we had the Lions share which kept us in it. Shows what you can do when your kicking game isn't ****.
But also not kicking aimlessly just to because that's the tactic. Previously we kicked just because, not because it was the right option. Felt like we got the balance right today.

BraceShit again, will that ever end ?
You genuinely think Brace lost that for France?

Look to coaching IMO, possible French overconfidence believing it would be an easy win combined with the shock of England trying to play some rugby for the first time since the world cup semi final? Was a good game.

Yup it's what I've whining about for months kicking isn't a bad plan the problem has been how **** we've been at it neither for territory or to compete. It was telling how many of our went to space and go into touch.

Best rugby of the championship 'from anyone within a population of over 6 million'!

Not quite sure what I think about that.

Good to get the win but it was scraped at home against a much less experienced side that has explicitly been built to target their home RWC and is bubbling away nicely. Give them 2 more yrs experience and they'd have easily closed that out.

But in the last couple of games we've at least given glimpses of what we're capable of.

A kicking game isn't a bad thing, but kicking off first phase or when attacking in the 22 (or both) is absolute nonsense.

They'll definitely be contenders. They have the capacity to play better rugby than anyone at the moment I think, maybe not SA. They really conspired to lose that today, an immature performance but they'll learn from it, this is the first year that they're favourites. Galthie included in all that, biggest loser in the French camp right now.

It's been a good campaign for a learning team with talent, last year they lost it to a moment of stupidity. This year a little more from working out how to close down a tight game. They'll need to finish off the next two games and I want them to get the championship but yeah maybe loosing slams is possibly a good thing. Winning all them hasn't done Wales any good in terms of RWC's and France want to be competing there not here.

Four weeks without games probably cost us, low energy at the end , but the win is still possible.

Well done England that was an entertaining fixture and far better commitment shown today. . I also believe that the Welsh backs will exploit the French lacklustre defensive line if they play like that next week.
