What happened to taking things one game at a time and all that cliche nonsense? :D

What do you mean?

Ah, if you ever listen to an interview with players its all this "we only take things one game at a time", "aren't looking beyond our next opponent", "focus is on the next game" etc etc etc

and here you are jumping 2 gameweeks in advance!

Ah. It's the next round's fixture. Thought I'll do it now while I have time as I'm a bit busy the next few weeks in court.

The Pro14 has been so entertaining recently that I have even less interest in the European comps. The Champions Cup merely swaps England and France for Italy and South Africa. It is no more international.

Home wins for all the teams except possibly the South Africans.

Another acolyte in the cult of Tommaso Allan. Leinster shall be toppled! :D

In all seriousness, I have been impressed with how Benetton have improved ever since they beat a seemingly invincible Ospreys team two seasons ago (that the Ospreys have gone downhill since is a separate discussion). Coupled with the notable results Italy's age-grade teams have had recently, it does look like Italian rugby is finally going somewhere.

Dear D4-heads,

Any chance you could lend us Peter Dooley for 10 years?

Cheers,

Your nordie neighbours (who have no reason to be noisy)

[But seriously - you have Dooley and Byrne down there - looking for gametime against Healy & McGrath - does neither of them want out for a couple of years to develop?]

We gave you Eric O'Sullivan that's all you get.

On a serious note I'd imagine most guys would rather move to Galway or Limerick than Belfast. Even if there are a few who've gone up recently.

That's true, I'd imagine crossing the border must be a bit of a psychological thing compared to staying "home" - even if its ironically quicker to get to/from than Galway or Limerick!

But, anyone (of these two) going to Connacht has to displace possibly the best LH scrummager in Ireland (Denis Buckley) or if they head down South its Cronin or Killer.

Up here... well. Andy Warwick is getting folded in half every week, McCall is never fit and our NIQ Saffa prop is off tackling calving jacks rather than scrums! If either Dooley or Byrne were as good as the talk, they'd walk into the team every week!

None of that here please, its a family forum.

To be honest it'll only get worse for the Nordies when the Sportsground is redeveloped considering players are choosing Connacht over Ulster despite Connacht having facilities some leading AIL sides would scoff at.

Glad to see Ulster picked up Jason Tovey. I think he'll be making Dragons fans scratch their heads wondering why he isn't playing for them. He has defences weaknesses and is not a world beater but he has to be better than a well past it Henson.

Huh? He's gone back to the Dragons.o_O

Good to see a few of the younger backs get a chance.

Ulster: Lowry; Baloucoune, Addison, McCloskey, Speight; McPhillips, Shanahan; O'Sullivan, Best (capt), Moore; Henderson, Treadwell; Reidy, Murphy, Coetzee

Replacements: Herring, Warwick, O'Toole, O'Connor, Jones, Stewart, Kernohan, Gilroy

Handicap jumped considerably.

Given the situation with injuries and international call ups, that's a big win for the Scarlets.
