[2017 Super Rugby] Round 10: Jaguares vs. Sharks (29/04/2017)

Our players are ****ing retarded, sometimes I get the feel they don't want to win and intentionally make mistakes in every key moment.

We should try one more year or two with another coach then if we dont improve leave the competition. We are a disgrace.

Moroni has had a bit of a nightmare since coming on. Jaguares doing well to turnover the ball a lot. It's the only thing keeping them in this game.

And these lineout errors are doing my head in!

Sharks clearly the better side for my money. Very well organised and far greater physical presence than the Jaguares. A bit limited in attack but 30 points away from home is not to be sniffed at. How did this team draw at home to the Rebels last week? Sharks will have to totally mess things up to miss out on the playoffs now. It's going to be the same bloody eight teams as last year, isn't it?

Jaguares kept doing these constant deep moves. At one stage late on, they lost 20 yards with two long passes in a row. Very strange and I've not noticed them doing that earlier in the year so it was obviously intentional. It wasn't working in the first half so why stick with it?

Son unos hijos de puta. No tienen verguenza.

PS: sorry about the lang H, apologies, we just threw our chances away, had to vent.

Sharks should also be thankful they played a team that can't win their own lines, scrums, can't kick penalties out to touch, tries kicking it when it's clearly the worst decision, etc

You guys described what I was thinking during the entire match. It isn't just about our skills and stamina, it's about attitude as well. We do whatever it takes to do the most unbelievable try ever and, 30 seconds later, the other team scores the dumbest try ever. It's always the same! I went to see them at Velez every single match last year. This year I told to myself I would only go if they made it to the playoffs. They are trying so hard not to. What bothers me the most is that we have a lot of easy matches coming up (e.g. Sunwolves, Force, Rebels, Kings, etc.) but we already lost the key matches we needed to win to make it into the playoffs.

IF we win and its a big IF we win several of those matches with BP and Sharks lose at least 2 games....then we be there but i hope they dont. If we fail miserably maybe they will change Perez as HC.

Sharks still have to play against Stormers and Lions and we don't. If we don't take advantage of that, we are doomed

2 very mediocre teams playing a game that was hard to watch. Must be frustrating to be a fan of either side.

Indeed its a pain in the ass. I imagine being fan of Waratahs is no walk on the park either.

It's bad enough for Blues fans... You know they're a good team, but then it never seems to count for anything.

How the media taking the losses over there?
As far fetched as it sounds, argentine rugby media is unbelievably creative to find positive spins even in the most shameful losses.
This is ESPN's latest headline "Los backs de Jaguares se lucieron ante Sharks" which loosely translates to "the backs stood out against the sharks". It kinda speaks volumes about how bad our rugby journalists are. I mean, in what parallel universe do you have to live to come up with such a stupid, uninformed, biased and low-added-value headline? Only someone who didn't watch the game would believe that.
Either you are being pushed or paid by UAR to come up with something positive or you are just bluntly incompetent.

Another thing i noticed on the comments sections was that, though not a majority, a lot of Argentines believe that we lost cause of the ref. I not only find it ludicrous, but also quite ironic, as i believe we've been fairly benefited by referees in the first 9 rounds and i don't think Jaco was that bad. He could have YCded a shark for a check without ball but the yellow card he did show was kinda harsh in my book. Some you win, some you lose. We've got no one but ourselves to blame.

The saddest part is the following: think about how we finished 2015. We beat RSA in the rugby championship, put on a decent fight against NZ in the world cup and gave Ireland quite a beating. Sure, we knew we would lose a few of our pumas but we were a squad in the making, with tons of young talent, a promising future and the idea having the Jaguares (basically the Pumas) playing every week together would give us an almost unfair advantage.
Look at where we are now. What used to be our assets (scrum and defense in our own 22) are nowhere to be found and the promise of a potent offense is, well, just a promise as we've got little to show for it.

Someone will look at 2016 and 2017 performance of Jaguares and argue we've improved. WRONG. We only got a bunch of easier opponents. Look at the way Pumas played. We lost to Wales, Scotland, England (with an extra player!).
I know SR 2018 will have a different format, but if we have to play any NZ, they will tear us a new one, home, away, neutral ground, hell, place the field in another galaxy and we'd still lose.
The problem is not where we stand. The problem is that i do not like where we are heading and the guys in charge have no grip on the steering-wheel whatsoever.

That was a really bad/disapointing game. And although we still have some mathematical chances to get more point that the Sharks, I think that this defeat (and the one against the bulls) settle a bad (underperforming) seasson for the Jaguares.

Congrats Sharks!!
You're almost on the QFs.

All the higher ups should already be boarding a plane to Europe to give Ayerza, Figallo, Imhoff, etc a blank check. This is a business after all and if we keep going like this for the next 2 or so years we gonna end up with crowds smaller than those of australian franchises and kicked out of the WC in pool stage.

Might be a waste of money for Marcos ..................

I'm so sad he will not be playing next season.

Also doubt Ayerza would of left tigers anyway when i have spoken to him he always wanted to finish his career with tigers. That rare one club man.
