Well, this is it folks. Most important game of the season for us. No excuses, no buts, no ifs.
If we do not win this we are out, it is that bloody simple.

I don't think the Sharks will win this one. Really should have won the game against the Rebels but they displayed bad leadership once again. The first time was against the Jaguars at home where we kept going for touch instead of taking kickable penalties. Second game was vs the rebels. Score is 3-6 we get multiple penalties in front of goal and each time they go for touch. The Sharks need to go study some history included in this should be the Japan game at the World Cup. If we want to win this game then every point on offer should be converted with a penalty. They simply can't afford to take the risk of going for touch as in more cases than not the lineout option will have a worse success rate.

The Jags will give away penalties we just have to take them.
Jags by 10. Pretty confident that we will lose this one. Won't be the end of the world, I still know we can make the playoffs with our remaining fixtures and will have Lambie back soon.

Why so negative??

The Sharks always have that one game every season where everything goes wrong. And they just had that game this past weekend.

I won't be so quick to write them off just yet. If anything, this match will determine who will end behind the Lions in their Conference. It's a make it or break it kind of match. The Sharks have to win this if they want to make the playoffs.

Hopefully the conditions in Argentina will be less wet and slippery than what it was in Durban...

Negative because they did not deserve to be praised. As for the nature of this game, Yes it will be great to win it as that should help our playoff hopes but if the Jags win this the points table wil look something like this
Sharks P9 W5 -points 24
Jagueares P9 W5 - points 24

The sharks have remaining fixtures vs the force at home then we play the kings and Sunwolves away which we should win. We finish of the season with three home fixtures against the Stormers, Bulls and Lions. If we win four of the remaining 6 then we will get a minimum of 16 points if you ignore the possibility of bonus points. Which gives us a final log total of 40 points.

For the Jags the qualify they will at least need 16 points out of their remaining games after the Sharks game which considering their fixtures might actually not be that hard to get with 5 consecutive weeks at home and against easier opponents than the Sharks. The Sharks are their toughest remaining competitors. So if we can't beat them in Arg then why can I expect the Kings or sunwolves to do it

After viewing the schedules of both teams this does actually seem like a must win game.

We have to win here agreed. Hopefully if they play like the lions game we can win here.

Must win game. If we do win this, I think we have an slightly easier path to the play-offs than Sharks do (they still have to play against Lions and Stormers).

This game is a really tough call. While improved, the Jaguares need to show me they can win a significant game away. Esterhuizen is a big loss for the Sharks in my opinion.

In these make or break matches the true Sharks normally comes out , Sharks will win this one

With Johan Deysel there to cover 12 and claasens to come on in the second half the Sharks will be more dangerous than with Andre at 12 , second half backline of
Claasens
Bosch
Mvovo
Deysel
Am
Ndungane
Smith
Can really do some damage

I like what coach Robert Du Preez is doing here. Picking the guys that are the most disciplined to start.

Interesting to see how Ward will do at 12, as he's really an outside centre.

Not that impressed with Ward yet would have started with Deysel @12 .. but i also know Ward have not been given chance to prove his worth yet

Jaguares receiving the ball really deep for some reason and making little headway with ball in hand. I guess they are anticipating blitz defence and looking to catch it out? Hopefully they know something I don't because the Sharks are looking the better side so far.

Our defense looks amateur, at best. I could pick a couple of random guys next to me at the pub and they'd give the sharks pretty much the same contest we have so far on our own 22.

Yup, its the same every week. The Jaguares play some decent stuff but can't take control of a game due to lapses in defence. They've arguably the weakest defence inside the 22 of any side competing for a playoff spot and it is frustrating that the coaching team aren't fixing this when they have managed to improve some other aspects of the side (e.g. patience in attack, trying to play more open rugby in the opponents half etc). I think they would have been behind if not for the yellow card for the Sharks. I fear the Sharks will edge this.

That was just, well, sad. Pathetic actually. My friends at the pub would have actually done much, much better.

To add insult to injury, defense in our own 22 ( and scrums!) used to be our strong points. Now they are our weaknesses.

Clever interception by Mvovo knowing the Jaguares are obsessed with passes that miss out an attacker or two and throw the ball back 10+ yards. If the Sharks keep 15 men on the park I see now way back from 10 points down for the Jaguares.

EDIT: Spoke too soon. Tuculet again showing his class in attack.
