What do I think what means?
Nah, you just have to type something when you quote, so I typed that...
They haven't been sent back yet, either... they'll go at the end of the week.
Against Wasps?I really hope Watson will be playing 15 this weekend.
Against Wasps?
I'm a little surprised you'd care; but I would doubt it TBH. Coming back from the hamstring injury it would be better, if given a straight choice, to play wing first up. Less running around out there, and gives him a chance to knock out the rustiness without being as exposed as you can be at the back.
Beyond that Bath are fine with Rocco and Homer at 14 & 15; but are relying on an academy kid who's having a bit of a torrid time of it at 11; so situationally much more likele to take that shirt.
I think we can also accept that there is little chance of beating the Scots in the breakdown so I think we will have to put an extra man in. Wales turned us over too many times because someone would run in and there would be maybe 1 English player trying to clear out 3 Welshmen with the rest of the English forwards just standing and watching rather than reacting. There is no point having everyone fanned out across the field for a wide game if the ball is constantly slowed down forcing you to keep it tight.
I dare say I've missed this elsewhere but England's approach at the breakdown against Wales looked like a team tactic to me - It seemed that we knew we couldn't compete so we let them have the ball and fanned out the defence.
Will be interesting to see if we take the same approach with Scotland (and Ireland for that matter).
I'm talking about when we had the ball, there is no benefit at all to losing possession in attack because the forwards just stand by and watch as the ball repeatedly gets turned over. Fanning out wide requires that you can get the ball out quickly and crucially not get turned over. If you can't keep possession when you need it then everything else becomes pointless. The ease with which we concede possession through turnovers is worrying, we need to be putting an extra player in at least. Yeah we then have 1 less player ready to attack but that's better than struggling at every breakdown and either losing the ball or being forced to keep it tight for another phase defeating the whole point of fanning out in the first place.
Billy V is back sooner than expected. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-union/39141044
They say he could make the Scotland game, but that would be surprising considering the extent of his injury. On the bench for Ireland seems a distinct possibility however.
