[2017 RBS Six Nations] Round 4: England vs Scotland (12/03/2017)

It was uncalled for but Laidlaw can cope, he's a grown up.

Almost certainly just a lack of quality control over whichever junior producer was rushing the stats through.

Laidlaw can cope. I would say he may have deserved it. Anyone remember his awful, disrespectful post-match interviews?

I for one don't know how I could ever watch ITV again after this. Completely disgusting.. I've been sick twice already this morning and intend to be sick again.

Really ? If you can't see that all of those posts are taking the **** and being sarcastic then there's no hope ....

Haven't you noticed the Kiwis getting ever more jittery as the record gets closer and closer? It would have been far worse had the Scotland game been close. The Irish game is going to be a massacre with regards to comments.

I absolutely agree with everything on the tackle. It was just the whole back in day rant that I was jabbing at.

Yeah I know but I was challenged by a kurī uwha claiming I hadn't played a days rugby in my life. I guess when you've given 40+ years to the game you're entitled to defend yourself.

Well done to England, they were brilliant and deserved the championship. The one man for me though who stood out in the great performance though was Mike Brown................ He was awful, it's like he get's fined for every pass he makes. JJ was my pick for Lions 13 before the 6 Nations and has just cemented his place for me, he was fantastic in attack, a joy to watch. As a Wales fan I'm a bit jealous of the way England's backs attack, I wish our coaching was that creative.

I hope England DO get the record.

I hope they extend it it as well.
We need something to aim for.
It's true.
Back to back RWC's home and away.
World no.1 forever.
Whats left?

Look at Ireland. They may not be bothered to get up for this one because Ireland beat England on a regular basis.
They've done enough for the next few years after finally climbing their Everest in Chicago and beating the best. Nobody beats Ireland 29 times in a row.

So go on England, continue beating up Scotland and Italy and getting home against the other teams, extend your record and give us something to aim for...
It's lonely at the top.

there's no way I'm going to take anything you say seriously,

Good. Then spare me your vitriol in future.

As for the rest.....
Jy praat uit jou gat uit.
How's that for English circle jerk stripey blazer soft toff articulation.

So now you hurl Afrikaans at me in attempt to... I don't know what? Why are you spouting Afrikaans?

I think most people here don't care about Sam Canes tackle, only bias losers with an axe to grind made a fuss about it. Because any player or anyone with a rational brain could see what happened.

Fraser Brown cited unsurprisingly - unlike Hughes who got away scott (no pun intended) freee because any right minded indivdual knows it was penalty nothing more.

I was unsure at the time about yellow or red but the more I see it the more it is a red. He completely follows through on the tackle and the impact location is the neck/base of the skull. Daly went off injured as a result and that's why these kinds of tackle are banned.

I think had it not been a ref first 6 nations fixture (why you'd give someone the Calcutta Cup which can be an ill tempered affair as their first 6 nations fixture is beyond me) and/or not the first 2 minuites he'd have seen red. Poor decision really.

I wouldn't have been surprised if the Brown tackle had been a red, impact was high on the back so very nearly head contact with the ground first. 2 weeks ban I reckon. The Hughes one was a bit odd, I think the ref originally thought it was a high tackle as well as a bit late. But he was saying something about warning England before about their tackles which why it should be a yellow? Honestly I had no idea what he was on about. But of a poor decision making from him.

Because I was raised and educated in South Africa not some stripey blazer soft toff English school.

You have made a lot of assumptions about me in your efforts to insult my achievements and background. All this does is prove how wrong you actually are. You know nothing about me, my culture or my heritage. So quit the petty insult hurling. Stick to the issue.

Yeah it was strange. He said that Hughes' tackle was a yellow because of another tackle earlier. Pretty sure that's not the basis on which you should give a yellow for a poor tackle. Repeat infringements in the red zone or at the scrum yes. But when it comes to tackles it's either a yellow or it isn't surely!

Fine if it is an English broadcast aimed at the tabloid market and those with a superficial interest in the sport. Utterly pathetic if it is a broadcast serving the non-English parts of the UK and in any way pretending to be quality sports coverage. It wouldn't have happened on good old auntie! :p

Similar to banging on about England all through the Italy vs France game (as pointed out by an English poster in the game day thread). Undermines the generally good work being done on both sides of the camera by ITV if the coverage includes jingoistic English mince and shoves it down the throats of non-English viewers.
