2017 British & Irish Lions Squad Announcement

Gats on injury cover due to Warbs being a worry.
"For some positions, we've spoken about one or two players. We'll let the players know they're on standby and we'll let their unions know, but we won't publish a list.

The reason we won't publish a list is because we may want to change our minds - we don't want to back ourselves into a corner with a player who is right at the moment but maybe isn't later on.

The best example of a player who was unlucky not to be picked in the original squad is Garry Ringrose, but if in the last week the weather forecast says it will be pelting it down, it could be that someone else comes in instead of him.

In our minds we have players who we will notify for standby, but we also have to be flexible."
Ringer name dropped personally, it's over New Zealand call it. Time of death: whenever Ringrose gets called up. Like the British empire your sun is setting, and the hour of the young pup is upon us. Those making the trip to New Zealand should factor a visit here into their trip, because it's an inevitability. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ringrose_Peak

Ringworm isn't fit to clean the frame of a photo of the house of the guy who made the material of the bag that Jonathan Joseph keeps his boots in.

Yeah England have a Courtney and an Elliot in their squad along with a bunch of other valley girl names. How are they taken seriously as a rugby nation?

Ireland have CJ, which was Pamela Anderson's character on Baywatch.
Also a tadghghdhghdhhg, which isn't even a name, just the tiles left over at the end of a game of scrabble.

Interesting to hear Todd Blackadder on BBC Radio 4 today talking about the upcoming Lions tour and how NZ is getting excited in preparation.

And I'd bang both CJ's

Munster fans have this on their wall.

Dylan Hartley in line for a call up according to various press. Waiting on Owens to prove his fitness....

What's the damage to Owens's ankle? Is it ligament damage? If so, doubt he will make it.

1 specialist 8 in the squad and 7 flankers... I know Stander and Moriarty can cover but jeez, that's still gonna be a huge workload for Faletau. Surely Heaslip would've been a more sensible replacement. Or even Hughes.

I don't understand the logic behind calling up a 6.5 who can cover 8 instead of an actual 8. Surely Heaslip was the right call?
