2017 British & Irish Lions Squad Announcement

Jesus Christ, That's really ******* horrible news.
Thoughts are with the Youngs clan

That's really ******* terrible. What awful news. So sorry to the whole Youngs clan, particularly to Tom and respect as Tigs says to Ben for making this decision. Wow, that's a big deal.

Huge respect to Ben Youngs to stay at home and support his brother Tom. Just rotten news.

Huge respect to Ben for priority being family. And thoughts with Tom. A gentleman and great Tiger.

Thoughts are with Tom as well that's horrible news. Huge respect to Ben for making what is clearly the right decision for his family regardless of personal gain.

Genuinely class from Ben, he and the Youngs family should be proud, both of this move and how the brothers have continued to perform so well over the years despite what's been going on off-pitch. Thoughts are with the Youngs' and everyone affected.

Family! Superb support from Ben. Wish all the best to Tom, his wife and Youngs clan! Class!

Laidlaw is the most sensible replacement. Can see him skippering the midweek team and offering a kicking option in those games also. Reliable choice in all situations.

Sometimes chasing an egg around just isn't that important. Classy move from Ben and best wishes to all the Youngs family.

Here's a question:
How many players have played both for and against the lions?
(I just remembered how many home nation players were in the barbarians side in 2013)

Looking at the BaaBaas team sheet that day, James Hook is the only name that jumps out as having played for the Lions too, so I guess it doubled the tally to two, but I stand to be corrected.

Pretty sure Elliot Daly was playing for BaaBass in the 2013 game in Hong Kong.

I've checked, he was :D

New question. Are the highlights on terrestrial TV?

I've got Sky, and can't wait to get rid of the sports after the Lions tour, but it would be nice to know that a terrestrial TV channel has picked this up for some decent highlights and analysis. I've googled but found nothing. Might stop people asking me for one of my SkyGo logons ;)

Thinking about it, it's strange that the Lions tour hasn't received much if any coverage from terrestrial TV for many years.

If your friends don't wish to flirt with the law, I'd suggest to them that they take out a subscription to the Sky Sports app. It's not going to break the bank for a day or two. There's also the NowTV option these days.
