Not sure I agree with that call but very enjoyable test match nevertheless
Glad I wasn't the only one thinking that - not the first time he's done that either.
In fairness, it's made for a better end, but I'm not sure that's why the ref is there. I'd be pretty mad if I was a Saffa fan right now, albeit there's nothing to complain about given the whole gamut of the game. Wasn't happy with some of his decisions over challenges in the air, looked so out of step with what I've been seeing. Really not sure he's the ref he was.
Anyway, congrats to the Wallabies, very hard lines on the Saffas, fantastic game for the neutral (once it got going).
Wow what a game, really enjoyed watching Pocock when he came on, he's awesome. It showed Hooper and Pocock will be a real force to reckon with at the RWC.
Drop Cooper though, end of story.
Phipps is your man at 9 as well, he came on and was fantastic.
Think they've backed down heavily on their stance to challenges in the air - if you're making a legit challenge for the ball there isn't a problem.
This match shows Australia do have the players they just need to select them in the starting lineup and right positions. Im not convinced on Hooper but theres probably nobody else.
For me its got to be Phipps, Giteau, Toomua. Anything else is just simply not going to work. Foley as backup.
Things I learnt:
Poey has to start, whether combined with hooper and Skelton replaced with horwill and fardy on the bench, or hooper to be an impact player. I would start both though.
Gits has to start, maybe not quade. I'd go gits at 10 and Toomua 12
Skelton isn't fit enough for international footy
Genia to start, only just over Phipps, as both distributed hot and cold, but Phipps delivered slower over all.
Genia was slow, phipps was slower.
