[2015 RWC] Warm Up Match: France vs England (22/08/2015)

I think this change has shown a) how good cips is and how mucheap he's been unfairly maligned in this set up, b) how much a limited player like Burrell messes up our backline

How the he'll were we still in that?

You joke surely?

Overall I say Ford a chance again I don't think Farrell would of faired much better playing behind that ****e.

Our lineout is a real serious issue that needs sorting.

Cips and Easter need to go their experience really showed today.

Really hope Cips/Slade get a chance to go to the WC, we need two creative options. Ford looked so much better with a second pair of eyes and hands next to him. Twelvetrees is ****, such a backwards Lancaster selection. George did well from his 2nd lineout onwards, I'd give him chance to start against Irish. It is impossible to win with bad set piece.

Miles Harrison should never commentate on England games again. So biased. As good as phase play in last 5 minutes from England was, French defence was up to it with some big back metre tackles. Did Miles mention these in between climaxing about England progress? No,No,No,No. No more national biased commentators

Farrell will prob better playing behind a backwards pack than Ford.

Last 15 mins should not disguise a terrible performance. ONLY starting player to play well was Jack Nowell, brown and Joseph were ok. Subs made a real impact, Mako, Attwood, Easter, Care all good, the less said the better about 36. Cipriani was superb, when he came on Ford had a second distributing option which seemed to ease the pressure on him and made him play better.

However, line out, scrum and breakdown were terrible, I thought the forwards looked very tired. Worrying signs.

Welll that ended exctingly. However..... Scrum crap, lineout crap, breakdown crap. Hooper and Pocock are going to destroy us at the breakdown. I can only hope that the lack of physicality is because our players are afraid of getting injured prior to the WC. Clutching at straws here!

Mako needs to start, Morgan in at 8, Wood to 6 - he balances out Robshaw.

Youngs or Webber? Take your pick, George on the bench ( he's been great).

May cannot play alongside Brown. It has to be one or the other. May & Goode or Brown and Watson (Nowell swaps).

Farrell in at 10, sorry everyone we need someone who can a: tackle, b): keep the teams shape even under pressure. Ford to the bench.

Ford kicked well all game though. His touch finding and goal kicking was excellent.
Cipriani was awesome. Brown was wonderful.
Nowell looked strong and positive.
Joseph is a class act.
Twelvetrees came on fresh and was strong and solid.
Ford was left bereft of any go forward ball until the last ten minutes when the French thought they already had the game won and foolishly lifted their foot off the throat.
England came roaring back on the scoreboard thanks to Brown's creativity and the finishing of Cipriano and Joseph who were both superb.
France were flattered by an appalling display from the English pack for 60 minutes.
The lineout and the scrum were deeply concerning.
Tom Youngs had a truly horrendous game at hooker. That poor bloke will be having nightmares after that.
Marler may need psychiatric counselling. He was bullied for way too long in a public place.
The ruck/breakdown is another major area of concern for England. They were pushed off the ball by a faster French loose forward trio.
Thats the least inspirational game I've seen from Robshaw in an England shirt, and he wasn't the poorest performing pommie forward by a longshot.
Marler was brutalised from the start until he was dragged.

Cipriani and George the only real positives
I'm mixed on George - lineout wasn't great, but he was very good in the loose. Would have him in the 23 vs Ireland, though.

Disagree on the Farrell point, but I agree Ford should get another shot.
I'd start Cipriani, with Ford on the bench, next week.
We know what Farrell can do, and he'll start vs Fiji. Let Ford and Cipriani fight it out to see who is 2nd choice.

Isn't the next match in two weeks and we have to announce our squad by then? Just saying vs Ireland we need to start first team more or less.
