[2015 RWC] Pool B: Scotland vs. Japan (23/09/2015)

Instead of diving the Japanesse had the perfect opertunity just to put the ball against the bottom of the post, with the position of the ruck theScots had no chance of defending it

That's what I was thinking. I also think they should change this rule. It's stupid.

I thought the referee made a good call with the no arms call. I don't mind the TMO being used for that either. It's a clear penalty, but no more than that. To me, it represented straight out poor technique, and all the player could manage was a flap of the arms when he was on the deck in a really vague attempt to use them. Not a yellow card by a long shot, so great call.

You can't be on the ground and compete for the ball, tigs. Scotland were on the break so cynical penalty. Borderline yellow.

On his knees having just made the tackle. We'll see in the highlights though, I might be wrong.

Scotland offloading and trying to go wide 2m from their own line, this could be quite a half ...

Thought he was on his feet, but didn't release before going for it - heard the ref say "tackle assist" I think

Real shame for him and Japan. He's looked fantastic both games.

Japan are running those lines back towards the ruck onto a quick, flat ball from Tanaka really well. That's broken the gainline a few times.

Good patient work for that. Having a large break in play then the try might change momentum for now.

More of the same please. Keep the ball & go through the phases.

Hope that he recovers for the latter stages, if Japan attends. Looked in bad shape and seemed to get hit in the back of the neck though.
