What a tackle!!! See if Eddie jones was right about his pregame predictions. Honestly thought Japan look brilliant but suffering from the bruising in Brighton. Most penalties look like tiredness instead of indiscipline.

Really entertaining first half, even if the accuracy in attack from both teams wasn't always there. Japan are tackling ferociously. I just wish in attack they finished their opportunities. When Mafi tried to dive over to score that try I was screaming for Tanaka to go wide. Sucking in the forwards is all good, but for the love of baby jesus, feed the backs!

Leitch having a scratchy game with the knock ons and penalties, but still very influential out there.

Interesting half. Japan look their best with 14 men..

I felt Scotland were a little too negative going for the kick when Japan had their player sent off, a difficult angle for a kick, they should have gone for touch and were rightly punished for that terrible negative play. They should have backed themselves for the line out drive, especially with 14 men, for me this decision lacked confidence. You can't jsut expect Laidlaw to carry you every game.

What a tackle from Noko at the end of the half. Michael Leitch has had an off game, I think he will come right this half though.

Laidlaw, Denton and Hardy have stood out for me for Scotland, Denton is really excellent. Great to see Hardy playing, wasn't long ago he was running out for the Highlanders, legend.

I didn't really buy the talk that they'd be too tired for this game. If they can beat the Boks they can beat almost anyone. Samoa and Scotland are certainly not beyond them. Just need to profit from territory.

The calls he made were there. Its just he has missed a fair few as well. And unfortunetly most would of benefited the Japanese.

Instead of diving the Japanesse had the perfect opertunity just to put the ball against the bottom of the post, with the position of the ruck theScots had no chance of defending it

As IMO a ruck hadn't formed so it should have been open season, but didn't hear what he said.
