Australia side:

Australia team for England: Scott Sio (12 Tests), Stephen Moore (c) (97 Tests), Sekope Kepu (58 Tests), Kane Douglas (18 Tests), Rob Simmons (55 Tests), Scott Fardy (25 Tests), Michael Hooper (vc) (47 Tests), David Pocock (51 Tests), Will Genia (61 Tests), Bernard Foley (22 Tests), Rob Horne (28 Tests), Matt Giteau (97 Tests), Tevita Kuridrani (25 Tests), Adam Ashley-Cooper (vc) (109 Tests), Israel Folau (34 Tests)

Same side that faced Fiji...I hope Lancaster paid attention to that as this is what is called consistency in selection in the lead up to a big match.

I still don't have a clue who Bomber is picking, I mean I know who I'd pick but after last week...

Australia side:

This is a very experienced side however there are clear areas where we can attack them.

The two obvious ones are lineout and scrum. they have improved but their locks are good but certainly not great in the air. Fardy is key for them as neither Hooper or Pocock are jumpers. Add to that Moore's throwing can be put under pressure. I Think Parling could come into his own here.

The Aussie scrum is still brittle for me and an area we can get at them. Yes it has improved but for my mind ours is still on another level & we should certainly target it.

The other area is the contact area. Their two props are pretty good ball carriers but since the loss of Skelton and Kefu they are short of ball carriers. I think we could target them here with choke tackles being particularly effective.

Patiently waiting for SL to tell us his 23....

The England announcement has been put off to midday! ><

Not a good sign probably waiting on JJ fitness...

Nah I'd say he was waiting for Australia to name their team first then take time to look at it and see what he wants to do . Any JJ fitness tests would have been done yesterday

Christ, this can only mean one thing!

FarrellBurgessBarritt (Part Deux)

It can be found down your local video store. Horror section (only in England). Anywhere else the comedy section.

this made me chuckle. i dont think the match will go as horribly as you all think, could well be another close match if england defend the AUS attack well. can see AUS turning the ball over and on counter attack may get a few tries in.

More likely waiting on Youngs

Even tho Wales have been the best northern hemisphere team in the last 10_years - 3 grandslams says so, when was the last time England did a grandslam? We were only lower in the ranking due to our poor record to the southern hemisphere in the autumn internationals bit its winnng tounaments that count and we do that better than England lately like it or not

Happy to see Giteau in for Australia.
Can't tackle, can't handle pressure.

I still remember Giteau's conversion attempt in the dying minutes of a game against Ireland (I think) about five/six years ago. Anyone have footage of it? Damn, it was funny.

I would tend to agree, though I think England have underachieved in the 6 nations and should really have snaffled 1 or 2 ***les.

Getting nervous for Saturday now...

Poor record more like crap record against SH sides.

Yup 2 wins & 1 draw in 10 years...also losses to Fiji, Japan, Samoa, Argentina (3 times).

England 7 wins (at least one against all 3) and a draw....also Argentina (twice).

Aye that is true but we have been more clinical in tournaments you cannot deny that , ii rather lose meaningless autumn internationals than lose the 6 nations..just saying!

Was responding to an earlier comment in the thread saying that England have been ranked above Wales for a while.

And that loss to Japan. Well just ti add our starting 15 were playing for the lions or we would of demolished them.

"We were only lower in the ranking due to our poor record to the southern hemisphere"

You would be higher in the rankings if we discounted all games against the best 3 sides in the world. Why would we do that? It strikes me as rather important to be able to do well against these sides.
The autumn internationals are the main window we have for playing the SH so like it or not, these games are taken extremely seriously, not least by the players themselves.

I know it is important for ranking points but your not getting what I'm saying?
Id rather lose all the matches in the autumn and go on to win the 6 nations by a grandslam which we have done. Its not like we get blown away by the SH teams we've been close to beating Australia about 10 thousand times now and we did beat the boks lately a feat that England couldn't manage so reign it in a bit!
