2014 Six Nations: Wales vs Italy (Round 1)

Either its that first game syndrome or something else, but the Welsh set-piece has been very shaky. Wales are also being very... cautious... at the breakdown giving Italy a chance to put pressure on there.

Wales aren't committing the men to the rucks and the big collisions as they usually would. Its a long tournament I guess, but its been a bit risky. Scoreline harsh on Italy I would say.

17-3 HT.

That wasn't a knock on, Italy could have got a try from that.

Parisse controlled it perfectly with the foot then the hands. Safe to say Italy were stripped of a highly favorable situation and 7 potential points with a score right under the post...would've have likely changed the dynamics of the remainder of the first half. Wales got ultra lucky and a 14-point turnaround from that. Truth be told.
Nice half from both teams besides that. Italy not exactly reminiscent of the All-Blacks but completing the passes, some difficult ones. Good work at the breakdown too, and they at least made that 3 pointer.
North and Roberts looking as threatening as always...110kg each, what a fkn backline for Wales.

And I don't care WHAT people say, in pro Rugby there - is - no - substitute - for - pure - power.
England and France better be wary of those two when the day comes...

I must say, with the amount of turnovers I think we need to sort the breakdown out. On this occasion, Tipuric is having a bad day.

That penalty is ridiculous... James does not need to move there, doesn't put the shoulder in but Allan runs into him and gets a penalty?!

I think Italy giving their youngsters a go was a good idea. Certainly don't look out of place. That 13 is a nice runner.
