2014 QBE Internationals [EOYT] England

Over the last 12 months all of Farrell, Ford, Burns and Cipriani have had international game time. Given how mental the calender is, I wouldn't be surprised to see all of them get international game time again. The contenders will get chances to show they've got chops at international level and prove to the coaches they can be trusted. I would like to accelerate the process, to give us the best chance of bringing in new talent ahead of the World Cup, but if you're taking the long term view it's not necessary. The process works out eventually.

Realistically we will probably see

10 Farrell
12 eastmond
13 manu t

I think that's what Lancaster will do. Given 12trees shocking form then eastmond has to be in on form.

Well this could throw a spanner in. The works as far as the back row is concerned . As if we didn't have enough competition there anyway ......

Could see the end of Wray, Clark and Johnson though ;)

He wouldn't make it into my team. His style doesn't fit england and will he really be fit enough for international rugby? Io don't think so. If you want an open side let's pick kvesic who is younger and will improve way more playing for England.

Or there is always David Seymour lol

As long as he gets in on merit than brilliant. If they just select him because he was great last year but doesn't turn up for Bath this year than bull****. But a backrow of Robshaw/Billy/Armitage not bad

I agree, Armitage can ***** off. As far as i'm concerned the last 5/6 months has just been a PR exercise to get him selected despite him being in france/force Lancaster into selecting for fear of him going to france, and now that's clearly backfired he "might" come back.

Just, no! he can do one as far as i'm concerned he's not a good enough player for this amount of attention.

hahahahahaha!

I like Armitage but can't see him making a challenge on Robshaw's position unless he's injured or being rested. Personally I'd play him at 8 where Vunipola and Morgan are less cemented into the position. Or simply use him as an impact sub?

I think he strengthens the team and that's what I'm after . I NEED to feel that feeling of winning the World Cup again if he can help us do that I'm fine with it ....

Daily mail stating Cipriani has missed out.

Ford will start against NZ outright as the 10 in command of the jersey. Has apparently leapfrogged Farrell. Myler is deputising the pair of them

eastmond looks like he will start too.

Jackson is normally quite on the money, but how could he possibly know that at this stage?

***Edit: just seen it's FOY, same point though.

Looks like he lost the game of chicken with the RFU. Hardly surprising.

He's got, at most, eight internationals (since he'll certainly miss the autumn) to stake a claim. If there is doubt surround Sam Burgess's ability to make it in prior to the world cup (in a position with no strong incumbent, as a much better player, and with a far better attitude), how on earth is Armitage going to manage it? That was before Burgess was injured.

In short, to repeat all that's been said for months, if he really wanted it he would've come at the end of his contract a year ago. He hasn't. And post-2015 there are plenty of promising players to compete for the shirt for 2019. Boat has sailed. Bed made. Tough ****.

Daily Mail are usually spot on.

Armitage moves to Bath, bet on your house that he is in the EPS.

yeah, mail normally are, but having read the article now he doesn't say ford to start int he article but to challenge farrell (unless i missed it)

I think they are probably right in their claim that it's Ford, Myler and Farrell.

But the rest of the article seems to be their interpretation of Lancaster's interview on SSNews yesterday morning.

If Cipriani misses out to someone as ****ing beige as Myler I'm going to **** my pants with rage.
