[2014 Mid-Year Test] Australia vs. France 07/06/14

blablablaaaaaaaaaa

scoring only 1 try in 3 tests last summer was pretty disastrous for France, yes...we'll do better than that for sure this year though. Can't do worse :p

Genia/Foley could be a mortal weapon. Watch out, Les Bleus! Watch out, All Blacks!

9- Genia
10- Foley
12- Toomua
15- Folau

If this lads going to play TRC such as this SR round, ABs must have carefull.

http://www.lequipe.fr/Rugby/Actualites/-toutes-les-options-sont-ouvertes/469796

FrenchFan, come on man, it's an English speaking forum...I hate it when I go online and I read spanish everywhere, so I wouldn't want to do the same here.

So you're saying some of our guys don't have test level:
Médard is past test level, although he could still make for a good FB, but we have better. Menini we'll just have to see in a week. Mermoz isn't below test level, especially not this season.
Michalak agreed (although he was a top flyhalf just about 1 year ago...), Mach had one bad game for France but he's one solid hooker, Guirado is a utility test hooker but he's not BAD.
And if we don't see much of Mermoz or others it's because their clubs are loaded with internationals.

Parra at 10 is temporary. The staff wasn't going to call in a 10 to fly in all the way from France to Aus to learn all the schemes to play one test and get the fk out.
Talès is a good 10 with sound ability. Everyone would rather have FTD there, but the staff chose him. He's not too old for the RWC, but he'll be replaced by Plisson or Lopez shortly after that time.

And if PSA says "we do what we can with what we have", he's 100% right. Again, those summer tests have been there since the dawn of Rugby time and if the Top 14 season is so grueling and taking so long, what can the French staff do ? They'll have to make the best out of what's available. There's no choice.

Hansen (NZ coach) has talked about this: that he wanted to simply postpone the June tests to July for because England will be missing a few key players (like Courtney Lawes, Owen Farrell, Tom Wood). For wtvr reason, federations are stubborn in keeping it in June.

here's to betting Parra plays better at 10 in that first test than when Tales gets back for the spot. Watching him (Tales) play in the Top 14 final tonight really weighs heavy on my suspicions about him....what a mistake PSA has done playing him over Trinh-Duc, dear Lord.....it's just irrefutable. No possible discussion.

Should be interesting. France did better this year than last year but were still far from convincing. The 6N showed they are the polar opposite of England, fantastic players but the team is less than the sum of its parts. If they start playing properly as a team, they will be deadly. Unfortunately with France there doesn't seem to be any real direction to them. Can't say whether they are improving or getting worse, what their mentality and strategy is or anything. A team of cats is a good analogy I think.

I haven't been watching Australia recently so can't say much apart from they weren't that convincing against the Lions IMO and came worst off of the big 3 nations. Generally 2 teams that thrive in open and creative play so should be a good watch.

This should be 3-0 to the wallabies. Australian sides are really playing well and have some depth in key positions.

well it's not "my" France side, it's yours too. Talès is slow indeed...but he can compete. And yes, I'm familiar with Toulon's cryotherapy, and yes they are ultra-professional. Everything about them excels...but although money isn't everything, it sure helps.

We'll just have to see what OUR France side manages in 3 tests. ;)

Parra won't be playing as 10 on Saturday, it was just to help out for training but Michalak and Talès are flying in on Tuesday.
I'll be cringing when Michalak comes on, he hasn't played for his club since God knows when, and he'll have, just like Talès, only a handful of days to practice with the team...oh boy.............
For Talès, he didn't have a great Top 14 final, but maybe it's best he flies right down to Australia and trains with France and plays test Rugby only a couple of days after his disappointment, it'll give him something tangible to focus on and hopefully he'll want to make amends for his mediocre form last weekend against Toulon.

So Australia really should win this first test...I think France will be willing, play an intense first match, but will be rusty, unprepared and sloppy. I don't think it'll be a blowout, but I see Australia winning it with a nice margin. We'll have to check out the XV's for the day, but France are without Bastareaud and Dulin for e.g. who've been essential.

lol  every time I see you've left a message, I know it's going to be something heavy to digest, esp. on this thread. You seem to have a big problem with the national team, bigger than you admit (to yourself ?). The way you respond, the hatred or at very least vehemence you put into your posts concerning the FFR...it's beyond objective reasoning, there's a little bit of passion there. It's like Toulouse vs France in your mind ! :p

Anyways, enjoy the show (because I know you'll be watching): Rémi Talès and his amazing flyhalf talents is going to feed our backline, possibly the most organized in world Rugby atm, and show the Aussie public how it's done. :p

If you could keep the posts to English, it would be appreciated.

he's in 'super angry rebel' mode. He doesn't care about the French national team, will post in French despite warnings, and I have a feeling he may take a pi*s with the lid up tonight !!....

Good team, bud

I would have liked to see Jones get a go in front of Carter. But in saying that I'm hoping to see Jones given a go in Melbourne and Skelton a go in Sydney. Apart from that i'd like to see the rotation of number 8's between Paul, McCalman and Higginbotham. The backline is as expected though.
