USA team with lots of changes. Good to see Dolan finally get a cap. He's the next LaValla basically.

Forwards: Nick Wallace, Zach Fenoglio, Eric Fry, Graham Harriman, Lou Stanfill, John Quill, Peter Dahl, Cam Dolan

Backs: Robbie Shaw, Toby L'Estrange, James Paterson, Seamus Kelly, Adam Siddall, Luke Hume, Blaine Scully

Subs: Chris Biller, Shawn Pittman, Phil Thiel, Brian Doyle, Todd Clever, Mike Petri, Andrew Suniula, Chris Wyles.

Positive note, I like that we some changes all around, and as expected are sitting key players (front rowers, Clever, Wyles) to buy them some rest too for the Japan game. Another positive side note, both of the players on the club team I've been with made the starting XV again, Hume and Siddall. I'd like to see Siddall run 10 for at least one game, Toby L'Estrange is wearing on me real fast.

Wonder who the captain will be. Stanfill maybe?

As for Dolan, it will be interesting to see how he plays at #8, considering Life U had him on the wing pretty much most of this season.

Is Ngwenya out, like Manoa, til the qualifiers? I think they need him for this and Japan but the schedule is the only one to blame. Fiji's starting xv seems much more experienced and wonder how long the veteran Eagles will stay on the bench...

An Eagles win would really help Canada, but I think that they will have their work cut out for them, just like Canada does tommorow with the short rest and travel. It also looks like Tolkin is targetting the Japan game by his lineup selections here. I wonder how early he'll bring the bench in to the contest.

Going to the store to get some caffeine, this comes on at 3:10 AM where I live. I know I will see that one, but the 2nd match of the doubleheader Japan v Canada will be the toughie. Watching both here: http://www.irb.com/live/video.html

Cant see the Eagles getting up here Fiji has had more rest and have included some big names for them. Im going to say Fiji with the 4 try Bonus point

Mike Petri is the only one I can see getting considerable minutes, but he's been in terrible form. I don't expect anyone to really play off at all unless there is injury. Lack of depth really hurting here as even the big names need to be on the bench. Curious to see what the substitution plan is if the game is really close, within reach, or dare I say in the lead...

If Todd Clever gets on this match, it will be his 50th cap.

In addition, according to RUGBYmag, Lou Stanfill will captain the squad for the first time in his test career.

I hope Clever doesn't get off the bench, he deserves better than to get his 50th cap that way.

They're playing the anthems it's about that time. So happy to see a different ref from the last 2.

Edit: What a run by Luke Hume!

Edit again: the teams have exchanged penalty kicks and it's level at 3 10 minutes in. Conditions (I hope) causing knock-ons now.

Edit: Fiji scored a try on an impressive scrum pushover, it was Matawalu who scored. That was at '19, and it took them 4 minutes to score another try.

So close to being 17 to 17 but Quill dropped the ball I had to read about after losing internet in a storm, just got it back in time for the half, awesome... They are also saying both Dahl and Paterson were injured on the same play.

Edit: Matadigo scored Fiji's 3rd try, he got the ball from a scrum that USA had the put in (they put it in one side and straight out the other).

Edit again: wow, their 4th try was a huge run by Matawalu who passed it to Kenatale at the last for the score.

Edit: Quill was hurt 72 minutes in, hope he's alright it was his knee. They say Clever is coming on to replace him but Wyles ran out

Last edit I guess: Fiji got another penalty at the very end to win by a 35 to 10 score. The USA side's next match is against Japan and with the PNC schedule I wouldn't be surprised if that were tomorrow.

Great performance from Fiji, I'll have to watch it again but this was one of Fiji's best performances in a long time, they've improved a lot since they brought in Bai, Matawalu, Nalaga, Nagusa and Matadigo. Was so great to see their scrum so dominant. They've only got one more hurdle to go through now to win, so I hope they can keep this up. Tonga have a godd team too who let themselves down against Canada

Here's the full highlights

Matawalu and Kenatale are both good halfbacks for Fiji, its a tough call to choose who should start. Matawalu is better in open play, he's a faster runner and can make tries noone else can, but Kenatale is a more stable halfback and sticks to doing his job as a half back well. Matawalu set up the best try of the game as he's done many times, but he I think he was playing fullback when he made that try. I was thinking Matawalu would be a good fullback for Fiji, but they've been playing Nagusa there and he's been playing quite well as a fullback, so its a tough call for who should start

I hope Clever doesn't get off the bench, he deserves better than to get his 50th cap that way.

what way do you mean?

Keep in mind it was pretty much the USA's 2nd side out there.
