2013 European Nations Cup / Six Nations B

Every country has had a fight like this, and to be honest, a brainless scrap up like that where most are missing punches, aren't as bad as cynical deliberate and thought out attempts to injure players like what happened to BOD in 2005.

Mhmm. Such was New Zealand's fear of O'Driscoll - with his mighty record against NZ, that it was a planned and deliberate attempt on his life.

Or it was reckless/careless incident which unfortunately missed out punishment - but otherwise was an over blown, unfortunate incident which is held to a different standard than every other spare tackle, to make up for the 2005 Lions ineptitude.

I'd say the punches are far worse than the spare tackle. Just because they were unaccurate, doesn't mean that there wasn't a hell of a lot of intent. I'd say a punch, eye gouge or stomp on the ground - where a player can't defend themselves is worse - however a spare tackle can be caused by getting over zelous and careless. The only thing seperating Sam Warburton's spare tackle and Umaga/Mealamu's, is that Warburton was punished by the referee. Short of Umaga and Mealamu asking to be red carded - I don't know why that incident is always brought up - 8 years later no doubt.

Sorry bad example. Perhaps this would be a better one. Calculated eye gouging to injure a player is worse than just some uncoordinated forward taking a swing during a heated match.

Or punching/kicking a player when their on the ground or defenceless or from behind like Duncan McRae did to ROG.

Looking at the comments of the Youtube videos of the fight, it seems that almost all Georgian fans approve the fight and they are proud of it.

Also, since the Georgians seem to start a fight (although usually not on this scale) in almost every match, does this mean the referee is always against them? I guess the organized booing at the Georgian home games directed at the opposition is also somehow connected to the referee and not rudeness?

I am curious: how common are fights between players in the Georgian rugby championship?

If you trust the YouTube trolls yah sure.. but on Georgian rugby forums nobody approved the fight. In Georgian championship fights are also pretty common unfortunately . booing was borrowed from football of course because Georgia is still pretty much a football community... also i don't know whats so shocking...when you have short tempered players like Gorgodze, Kolelishvili, Kubriashvili, and Chkhaidze of all people as a captain.. who do you expect to stop the fight Todua ?? or kvirikashvili ?

Woah 2 minutes since Geo vs Por started and georgia have been amazing  a 180 degree turn from last game khmaladze finishes a 2 minute non stop back play attack... haven't seen something like this ever in georgia game tbh wow 3min

Geo 7-0 Por 3'

portugal answer with fk
Geo 7 - 3 Por 8'

7-3 at Half time but the game is very fast dynamic and nice to watch with backs playing and everything... mistakes are still common unfortunately

Geo 7 - 6 Por 55'

Geo 10 - 6 Por 64'

Geo 10 - 9 Por 65'

Geo 15 - 9 Por 70'

Geo 18 - 12 Por 76'

Geo 25 - 12 Por 83'

What a game..it was so fast even I'm exhausted... don't see many like this in Enc

Romania vs Russia is now live

This seems more like an old style ENC game so far. slow and based solely on strength :\ i couldn't find working link for Spain vs Belgium

Romania 3 - 0 Russia 5'

Rom 3 - 3 Rus this game kinda hard to watch after Georgia vs Portugal but its still very interesting because 2 of the World cup competitors are facing off..

Romania 3 - 8 Bears scored a pretty good try

Romania 6 - 8 Russia

I might fall asleep before this is over

Romania 6 - 11 Russia HT

I am not seeing Georgia-Portugal, but see Romania-Russia and not sleep, Georgians tipical Georgians))) Everywhere even in sport anti-Russian.

There were about 80/90 guys (late teens) playing touch rugby on the beach near Biarritz yesterday wearing tracksuits with "Belgium Rugby" on the back.....any ideas who they were or what they were doing here? Hardly warm weather training as it was .......dwn and windy as hell!!

I have no idea to be honest

Belgium are the best team by far to come up in a while all 6 teams are now competetive, almost makes me sad that one of these teams are going to get relegated in two years and the side that comes up will probably be much weaker.

Portugal are in rough shape now on the table while Romania and Georgia are padding that early lead, a couple of more wins and they could be on cruise control to the Europe 1 and 2 spots. I wonder whether Spain will recall some of those loosely connected players now that their form from last season has gone down significantly.
