Barritt vs New Zealand is on par, at least, with Wade vs Argentina.

I have no issue with Wade because Wade is a very exciting player who not only has huge potential but actually gives the squad a different way of playing, we have power on the wing and we have Maitland, Wade offers sheer pace. Barritt offers nothing, literally not a microgram different or better.

You're letting your love of McFadden get in the way a bit there. Was never really in the reckoning.

D'arcy was as good as BOD at his very best but BOD played to his best much more often in my opinion. McFadden is a player who goes under the radar constantly, he was one of Leinster's best players this season and was probably Ireland's best player against France and it went unnoticed. I'm not saying that he should be a Lion necessarily just that if other players had his season they would be getting much more praise.

No BO'D would have meant could D'arcy could play 13 his better and favoured position.

No he hasn't been that good, he's been one of pretty good but not that good. He's a fighter and has load of excellent qualities which for some reason make him perfect for matches against French teams but he's not the sort of guy who's going to win loads of plaudits.

He's the sort who really fits the unsung hero mold.
