[2013-14 IRB 7's] Hong Kong

Not a way to exit the tournament for the Manu boys. They need to do some intelligent, composed playing. Bring back Uale as a coach or something for next season. He's inspired many as a player, he could do the same as the man in-charge, provided no politicking within the union. Bah!

Cripes, England has had our number the past few tournaments, we just can't seem to beat those guys... the matches are always close but I'd really like to see us put one over England, NZ, SA, Fiji.

yeah that was unlucky, they should have won that. Mack wasn't very good in that game he made a few big mistakes

Fiji were looking like the best team on Day 1 and 2, but USA really gave us a scare as they did to NZ. Hopefully Fiji sort out what was going wrong there, I think it was just a case of being pinned in their own 22 and without possession.

awwww man why did that USA player cut in, he could have tied the game up for USA against South Africa

Canada are getting thrashed by Wales now, this isn't the Canada we've seen from yesterday or the past couple tournaments

Well England have beaten Fiji 17-7. England did what they've done so often against Fiji, stand off them, get in the way of their support, let the Fijians run backwards passing the ball back and forth going no where. England have done that game plan against Fiji so often you'd think they'd be on to it by now. Especially since they have Englands former coach where they first starting using that game plan

Congrats to Team Japan.
Hong Kong's semifinal performance needs to be evaluated
work hard in next Asian Sevens Series! :)

Good win for NZ. Puts us back at the top of the standings. The result was largely predictable given the wet weather. We adapt to wet conditions far better than other sides. England continued to try and play an expansive game despite the conditions and it cost them - I think they hand 7 handing errors in the 1st half alone. I wouldn't want to face that England side on a dry field though - they have some serious pace out-wide (something the NZ side is lacking...).

The prestigous event of the 7's calender is upon us to take place March 28-30th, with the added bonus of the qualifier tournament on top of the exciting main competition, the pools have been drawn and here they are.....

Qualifier Tournament

Pool E
Barbados

Pool F
American Samoa

Pool G
Trinidad and Tobago

Why is there no West Indies team unlike Cricket?
Is there anyone advocating unification of (Western) Samoa and American Samoa?

Congrats to Japan on winning core status, they will be included in the last two events of this years circuit whihc is good for their deveolpment, they will almost certainly replace Spain who need a miracle to avoid relegation.
