Ok, i dont think they are out. Apparently the received a special permission from UAR to play for their (former) clubs. Me like it, but it scared the living bejesus out of me for a moment.
 
What a terrible start for us. I guess we could argue this is a transition period for us, but our top players (Moneta, Gonzalez, Mare, Pellandini, etc) and the coach are all still there.
 
It's a real shame. You lads' rise in sevens was astronomical. Ireland went from not playing at all to competing for the top 3 spots on a regular basis. They did much, much better than GB (natural benchmark in my eyes).
One bad season and puff, your union decided to pull the plug. A tragedy.

The good thing about the current setup, is that it is literally brutal. The worst team doesn't really need a miracle to beat the best team. One might look at the teams, see Spain and think it'll be an easy game. Rude awakening incoming.
