A Political Thread pt. 2

The UK government has decided to recognise the EU's product safety symbol indefinitely, in a post-Brexit climbdown.

From the end of next year, goods such as light bulbs and toys were meant to carry a new UK-only mark to be sold in Great Britain.

However, the business department has now confirmed the EU symbol will continue to be accepted on most goods.

Lolz

Post-Brexit checks on fresh farm produce coming to the UK from the EU have been delayed again, the BBC understands.

New import controls on EU food products had been due to begin in October.

There is concern that the extra checks on imported goods will push up prices and fuel inflation.

So the claim that Brexit would allow cheaper food, is once again found to be rubbish.

Additionally I think the UK is in breach of WTO rules.

Goods coming from the EU have less checks on them than goods coming from the Rest Of The World.

Wouldn't surprise me. The whole Brexit deal, delays and renegotiations means that we're probably broken a few rules. Hell we even had a minister say publicly that we were prepared to break the law in a specific and limited way.

"I have only one appeal, don't sit at home silently," he said in a video address posted to X, formerly known as Twitter. "I am struggling for you and the country and your children's future," he added.

they all use the same bullshit "It's you they are harming by going after me". The parallels in language between despots throughout history and Trump shows exactly what his mentality is.
