A Political Thread pt. 2

Really uncomfortable with Ukraine violating international law norms in the prosecution of war crimes, especially when they are receiving aid from the United States. two wrongs don't make a right.

If leaked evidence shows other cases of Johnson at parties and the Met has not prosecuted, serious questions must be asked about their independence and accountability. If they are going to choose to arbitrarily waive the law, as they were going to do before the situation became untenable, then they are not fit to police.

the thing that gets me with Boris is that he let people working for him face consequences for things that he also did. No matter a person's policies that's just a blatant lack of principles that I can't believe people support him.

The actions of an innocent man:

Reports this morning that there's even more damning photos of the way and that Gray was asked not to include them in the report and that Civil Servant officials had to fight to have them included

Even reported in The Times that he asked for the report not to be published. Or suggested it was a waste of time now the police are done.

This'll be never ending we still have the parliamentary standards committee investigation to come.

Considering you only have to look at how they tried to bury the Russia report and the conclusions are likely the same, they are guilty as sin. Yet they will still have those who will support them through thick and thin... This goes way beyond political differences now, this is corruption and integrity. **** those ********. If you are willing to sacrifice all the supposed values we hold just so "your side" can win, you are the problem and need to have a long look at yourself. Once you accept the rule of law doesn't apply to our leaders and that partisanship overrides everything else, you are a small step away from accepting the destruction of democracy and totalitarianism. It's our adherence to the rule of law and certain levels of ethics and morality that stop that.

Scary. 😳
Yup, especially (as per my post in this thread on Wednesday) when wholesale energy prices for both electricity and gas have returned to near normal in the past 6 weeks and because Ofgem's own website shows there typically aren't seasonal variations in either.

If there a logic behind this huge disparity between the reality of wholesale prices at present and what Ofgem are saying it would have been nice for the Guardian to explore that rather than blindly mislead the public with the complete lie of 'record wholesale prices'. Scary is the word but perhaps not for the same reasons. Energy firms took a hit last year and Ofgem appear to be setting up Joe Public to foot the bill with an artificial cap rise.
