World Rugby U20 Championship

Not looked at the Welsh side at all yet but I look forward to seeing them tonight against the Oz

The stand out players for them from the backs was fly half, full back and centre. All were excellent throughout, the commentator was saying that the left winger was the 'danger man' but he didn't really get enough of the ball to make enough of an impact really.
The number 8 was very good, he carried very well. I think I've heard about him before and that he's a good prospect. The locks were decent enough. The captain was a prop so I don't know if that says anything but he carried well. Also the scrum for Italy in the latter stages of the game was very strong which is the opposite to the senior team which starts well in the scrum then falls apart towards the end

Thank a lot. I will try to catch some of this I think. Very surprised as the "Emerging Italy" side is routinely quite poor.

Very disappointing from Wales, 3 mistakes lead to 3 tries. We score a drop kick to make it 17-17 in the 78th minute and you'd think they'd play it safe and plonk the ball in the Aussie half but no, a simple catch is dropped and Australia score. Why do Wales always do this to me?

Edit to add: Our forwards are typical Saffa forward, strong, good scrummagers. Unfortunately the backs didn't get much chance to shine due to the French defence but the tactical kicking and scramble defence was on point. Alot of the trouble of this game came from nerves and the conditions I rate, hopefully the Georgia game will be more subdued
We'll you should be aware that Georgians are targeting SA, The win is the most probable out of the 3 because the teams have similar strengths and Lelos are counting on their scrum/set piece being stronger, which if true will put boks under a lot of pressure. Argentina won today because of their superior size and strength, I mean they have some gargantuan types, especially the #4.

Well then it should be a good game! As I said I think our SA forwards have what it takes to get the job done. I feel that the conditions, nerves and France's defence took our backs out of the game, so by "subdued" I mean the conditions and confidence, not the opponents themselves.

Highlights Italy vs Ireland (some good back play)

Argentina vs Georgia (all about the Argentine pack and a tiny Georgian's big leg!)

South Africa vs France

Wales vs Australia

Some decent stuff from Scotland against NZ. Not surprised to see Kinghorn have an impact but I hope this doesn't mean he is excluded from the June Tests. He is the only credible backup to Hogg that they have - as proven by the debacle at Twickenham in the 6N.

I like the fact that England scored so many tries against Samoa they couldn't even fit half of them in the highlights.

Marcos Kremer playing his second U20 WC with 19 years old!! And he already has played with Jaguares and the Pumas this year!! Such a great player we have for the next decade.

Kinghorn had an absolute nightmare of a game.

Maybe that didn't come accross in the highlights.

Tale of woe included; badly missed goal kicks (by miles), penalty kick to corner going dead in goal, dropping a pass under the posts - leading to scrum then try.

Ouch!

Wooooo, I see we tied with France in a game we (readng the footnotes) had no right to do so. Man, can't believe I missed it.

Anyone saw it and got time to give an impression?
Ah tough luck, it was on Youtube yesterday but the guy removed it 24 or 48 hours after he broadcasted it due to right infringement issues. If I remember correctly, France was leading 23 to 16, with South Africa somehow managing to narrow down the gap all match thanks to penalty kicks. They put pressure on the french during the last minutes of the match through sweat and tears, to finally get a try by touching down near the tryline after a grinding effort. I can't say they really deserved the victory but they certainly deserved that last try.
Frustrating stuff.

Georgia rugby facebook page does a lot of livestreams for games boys. Handy oul tool. Watching Wales v Aus on it now.
