The table is fairly meaningless other to show your teams wins and losses.

The rankings points change are cumulative from last week.

-2.78 for England is rough. Pity for us NZ and now Aus had the first go at the cherry. Now of course England will get one over us from an all time low position ITO rankings.

Six pools at the next RWC so the battle is on to get into the top 6 before the draw seedings are decided. Fair play to Argentina for some big wins to get themselves in there. Scotland v Australia looking very juicy now.

That format is weird.
Usually (for example) NZ #2 (⬆️3) means that NZ are 2nd, having risen 3 places.

What's England's path to getting in the top 6 by the end of the window? Beat SA or hope Aus beat Scotland? Argentina have two games against higher ranked sides and presumably shouldn't drop out if they lose

Don't think rankings are worth much until the end of a test window.

Think SA deserve a bit of a cushion at the top (that Pumas loss hammered them), expect France to provide said cushion next week.

It'd take a disaster of epic proportions for us not to be top 6 but winning our way in this autumn is important to not make it all that possible next year.

This weekend blew my predictions in the other thread up. Think I'll only be right predicting 3/3 in Paris.

With the new rwc format I actually don't think getting top ceedings is so important anymore because there won't be 3 top teams in a pool anymore.

Round of 16 though means it's more about who you get outside of your pool IMO.

The up/down position is their old position, as in Australia have moved from 10 to 8, not up 10

Is it a one test shoot out between Scotland and Australia for a top 6 finish (assuming IRE beat AUS)?
As I understand it Aus will go 6th if they beat Scotland and/or Ireland.

England and Ireland can't move up or increase their rankings because no points on offer.

Scotland would only maintain position if they win against Aus otherwise they would drop below England.

I think you'll find that when Wales beat South Africa we will return to our rightful place.
