World League Brainstorming thread

I made a breakthrough!!! :D

I hex edited my latest roster and ozzy's roster.copied all my players from my roster to ozzy's roster,copied and pasted at the same offset.

saved ozzy's roster now containing all of the players in my newest roster,installed Woosaah's Rugasmic 08 Editor (but the first one he made,the one without the face preview thing).opened the newly edited ozzy roster,it opened without any hick-ups.

Then when I went to the team list thing where you can edit the teams I saw that the team list are still the same as ozzy made them but here and there are players in wrong teams as I updated old players with new players in my roster.

Anycase I clicked on the set as default button to generate the rdf file,started the game,loaded ozzy's roster ingame,checked the squads and saw that there were lots of players in wrong teams but they were new players that I created in my roster.

Then for the big part :D ..............started a new WL and..........it worked!!!!!!!!! :) ,I almost fainted :lol: .

Anycase all I have to do now (which will take a **** load of time) is to place all the players in their correct teams and generate a new rdf file with Woosaah's Rugasmic 08 Editor (the old one ofcourse :) ) and hope all of it would work correctly ;)

Cool, i will try this when i get time. What we need specifically is an .rdf creator.. maybe a seperate program from woosaahs editor.. you make the roster in woosaahs editor and then create the .rdf in another program unless he can fix the bug.
 
Let me know if you need help with anything Fa'atau like if you want the old editor or help with the hex-editing

Once you click on "set as default" the editor creates a rdf file in the editor's main folder and also in Rugby 08's main folder,thats all you need to do

you believed is maybe created players who are in club teams when we try to convert in rdf there is bug ?
 
Many thing are possible for creating the "bug", but there are created players in my newly WL working roster and rdf file but the WL is working now but with use of Woosaah's 1st Editor,so the only thing I can think of that created this "bug" is Woosaah's Rugasmic 08 Editor itself,the old editor creates the rdf file and it works but if you create it using the new editor the game crashes...
 
i tried to pasted offset but no good for me.
i copied the first players until 1903 Players and pasted on one default roster but the game don t want to load roster the editor yes ?
I dont know if i do all very good

but it s possible to send me this version of editor please i will try too to have one worldleague without bug i want try to pasted on one default roster.

pageski I will make you a tutorial on how to hex edit the roster and send you the old version of Woosaah's Rugasmic 08 Editor but maybe only next week okay?

Ok, the latest development.

I have opened a .ros file and also an .rdf file, that has been made in Woosaah's editor (one of the later versions with face previews) with XVI32 (which is a hex editor) and they names are fully updated in both, so there is NO problem with the .rdf that is noticeable. The data is saving correctly it seems.

Therefore i am now certain that the .rdf is being corrupted by any edition of the woosaah editor, after the 1st release. I will speak to woosaah and kingwilko and see if they know about this process and if they have any knowledge of it.

I am going to try making a small change to the .rdf with the hex editor and see if it saves it better.

I am thinking that any in-game text requires hex editing, like the .english file or in this case, perhaps the .rdf.

So perhaps i would suggest the following test:


- Using woosaah's editor 1st edition, open up the created .rdf of your updated roster and re-type a players name and save it (as to save it in hex mode)
- Using woosaah's editor 2nd edition or later, open up the created .rdf of your updated roster and re-type a players name and save it (as to save it in hex mode)

Try both in the game and see if either of them works. This will confirm whether the text has to be changed in a hex editor (like the .english and .french file) or if it is definitely a bug in the latest releases of the woosaah editor.

I am certain it is either the roster needs 'authenticating' or saving with a hex editor for some strange reason.. or that the the issue is from some corrupt value/string/data in the later releases of the woosaah editor.
 
Ok i have found one old editor with button set default (and boutton 4) but without face.
I do set default on my roster modified (top14) and created one new rdf i can play the world league with good squad of toulouse i change xml for to begin with toulouse, i finish the first season without bug but i don t have to do transferts i go on to see if is possible to go on all the season league.
I will test if its possible to have others teams on the world league like representants teams or hide teams like leeds or cats.

first hex edit but i must change after player position it s because i tried directly save my rdf with the whosah editor old version and it s good but i don t have to do transfert during the game and i limit on the xml 3 transfert by season i have just no good faces on the conversion maybe change the xml face.
I will test others possibility during holidays
 
I made another breaktrough :box:

Okay people I've got good news and bad news :D

Good news: I found a way to make the WL and Challange mode work without needing to redo my roster all over again that's now if Ozzy's roster's format.

Bad news:The Challange mode works without any problems,its completely fixed now.

The WL aslo works fine but has one very small "bug", when you begin a new WL and select a team it will work perfectly,but should you start a new WL and then quit it because you want to start with another team and choose that other team the game will crash.

However I found a way around this little "bug" :) ,when you start a new WL and then quit because you want to start with another team just go to the challange mode first and choose a challange and go on till you get to the screen where you can select the teams and kits and then go back to the WL section and you can then choose another team to start the WL with without the game crashing :bravo:

First I'm gona need members who will be willing to test the roster and rdf file to make sure that can play the WL and challange without any other "bugs"

I'll send the first 3 members who gives me a pm to test the WL and challange mode a copy of my roster and the rdf file to test.

I don t understand your little bug, with my rdf i don t have see one bug for the moment.
I believe the old version give good conversion rdf. and the others editor no good conversion.

I test with my rdf with other teams on the beginnig of WL like representative teams like british lions, pacific isles, barbarians because i use it for to do new french teams.

it s ok for the first season i begin match i quit match and i go on until the end of the season for to do this i change the xml for to have 99 on job security and few less when lose match.

I believed good conversion with the old version.
We must change roster with last editor and save rdf with old editor i think.
 
Okay I can confirm that the WL will not work if you have the MUP installed when using this roster and rdf, however the challange mode still works,thanks to StevoIRL for testing it.

I still want another 2 members to test this for me before I release it.

Okay it looks like I'm going to have to use my hex edit modified roster because the normal one that I thought had only that one "bug" is giving me more "bugs" now,started a new WL without any problems,played a game and finished it but when I got to the screen where is shows you how many points you earned in the game and click to go to the next match the game crashed.

So its left me to complete my hex edited roster which has no bugs, I'm about 50% done in placing all the players in their correct teams.so no more testers will be needed.
