About a year to go, I bet it'll come faster than any of us predicted.
I was reading up on some comments on how NZ can't miss this one, and earlier saw an interview on tv with Dan Cahtah saying how RWC's just don't like him and he's had bad experiences each time for different reasons. He then said he thought this time was the perfect opportunity for him to finally shine and that NZ were on the verge of, he hoped, doing something unique so far, winning the RWC twice in a row.

Yes they're still undefeated and they've resisted all possible strategies and gameplans and game styles so far so they've got to be the favorites going into this one, even though they're always favorites anyways; but I can't help but feel instinctively, and this isn't based on anything founded, something isn't going to go their way again next year.
I know, it's early. We don't even know what form all teams are going into it. England could progress further and then it's a totally different game when calling the finalists.

I have a feeling the Springboks will make the final. They'll finish first in their pool hands down no debate, and then it's wide open and I like their chances against any side although there's a good chance they meet the AB in the 1/2F.

There's a good chance a NH team makes it to the final. If everything goes "normally" SA and NZ meet in that first 1/2F, and on the other side I don't see Australia making it all the way so England, France, Ireland ??...

Honestly one of the most interesting things for me will be seeing who doesn't qualify for the quarter finals out of Wales, Australia and England. Money has got to be on Wales at this point in time, but you never really know what's going to happen!

Yes, that will be pivotal for the entire tournament. Agreed. It'll show just how 'for real' England are, esp. if they finish 1st, that'd be one convincing streak of consistency and they'd have crazy momentum for the rest of the way if they can get past that early mega-pressure adversity, being at home and with their crazy rosbif supporters in the stands.
Right now I'd go for England head of the pool, Australia runnerup and Wales eliminated, but that's just right now.

Ireland's near 180° shift in just a fkng year is a very unpleasant surprise for France too in Pool D. I remember being comfortable back in '12 when I saw we were head of the pool and got Ireland and Italy when others had monsters like NZ or SA or that aforementioned Pool of death. Not so glad now. If we lose to Ireland, we're bound to face NZ in the very next round. So it's almost like that FRA IRE game will be about who throws the other in the pit of fire :p

because heading into the world cup australia has a very strong squad and a really good back's.

Australia winning the world cup, Scotland reaching the quarters and England not qualifying in their group at home.

You heard it here first everyone.

If England fail to make it out of their group, I'd almost be as happy as if the wallabies were to win the comp :D

well that depends how wales turn up thought england are going to have to face a very strong australian backs and wales if they turn up wow they turn up to this years six nations then my predictions are way wrong but seriously if they turn up at they're best england i dont see them getting out the group stages.

and with scotland reaching the quarter finals they should. what will samoa have special let me tell you they wouldn't have much. the Tuilagi all retired from Samoan rugby i dont see much young samoan's going around making a name. so yeah i dont see samoa getting through.

i may have been abit optimistic with australia winning the world cup but with the squad they have they could. imagine the back line australia can have. 9. Genia. 10. Cooper. 11. Cummins 12. Beale 13. Ashley-cooper 14. Toname (if o'connor doesn't move back to australia) 15. Folau probably the best your going to see.

Backs don't win you games, forwards do. Great example is Ireland vs Wales this year - what, 5th and 6th choice wingers? 34 and 35 year old centers?

barring injuries, our forwards could well be pretty handy come 2015. If Pocock manages to come back, he'll add even more physicality to our already strong pilfering skills. Along with dynamic guys like Higgers, and McCalman, we should be pretty handy. Also, Skelton is coming into his own now too, and he'll add a lot of power to the pack with his incredible size with another year under his belt.

Load of rubbish. Trimble was great that 6N, BO'D and D'Arcy are still a better balanced centre pairing than the Welsh partnership, but most importantly, Ireland had a massive edge in the half-backs. Rob Kearney was also better than Halfpenny that tournament.
