What games are you playing?

As it's Bethesda, it will probably be released in 2030. Maybe even be an MMO looking at their last load of poor choice games.

(rant over, please just finish elder scrolls soon).
Bethesda don't make good games......well not great ones. Out of the modern Fallout's by far the best one was actually done by Obsidian (on Bethesda's engine) and even their Elder Scroll games aren't as good as people make out.

Its certainly not who I'd want making a Indy game not even close, obviously the best people would be Naughty Dog or Crystal Dynamics (although they progressive got worse at Tomb Raider after the first reboot) however they have their own franchises.

Just finished the main storyline in Hades, I think the game is probably overly praised but isn't shy off it. Its fantastic definitely the best rogue-like I've played and I still want to finish many of the side plots, huge replay-ability factor in increasing challenges and potential combat unlocks.

The hint is in the name, what games are you currently spending way too much of your time on?

I've just rediscovered Age of Empires II, by far the best real-time strategy game ever. A load of Football Manager too.
I love the Mirror's Edge & Watch Dogs Series. But I also like: Super Mario, Animal Crossing, Skate, Forza Horizon, Test Drive...

Just coming to the end of Assassins Creed: Origins

Took me a bit to get into it because it/it's combat is so different to the previous games, but I've really enjoyed it overall, despite being quite grindy at times (I don't mind a certain level of grind in games, though - and it's nowhere near bad enough to make anyone consider actually buying the pay-to-win addons they keep trying to shill in the pause menus)
Looks fantastic as well.

Will probably pick up Odyssey next, if it's still in the sale - really want to get Valhalla but have read that it struggles on PS4 so will wait until I get a PS5

I finally finished the last of us 2. Must say it was really gritty and the feel/ mood of the game was amazing. One of the best games ever in terms of the story it takes you on and the gameplay was brilliant.
Now I have a confession to make. I downloaded Skyrim SE and a load of mods and have started it afresh. I really wanted to play a sword and bird type game but there's naff all out there. Not sure why there aren't more Skyrim rip offs?

I'll be busy with Skyrim for another year now so Spider-Man and days gone will have to wait.

You are not going to regret getting Odyssey. And it's going to keep you busy for a very long time.

Just a tip, don't try to play the story up as fast as possible. There are so many fun things to do, that the story is sometimes in the way of getting awesome gear or fighting legendary animals.

I think the main storyline is my least favourite part of Origins tbh, haha
Side missions and just general exploration is much more fun than "Escort Cleopatra to the docks" etc.

Still good, don't get me wrong, but I'm just loving everything else more

My favourite part of Odyssey is the exploration, and uncovering the tombs and getting the legendary kits. But be wary of your character's level and the areas level, some regions are just too tough to explore early on. Oh, and the wild animals will just kill you with one bite.

I'm a bit behind the curve, I'm just getting my teeth into Assassin's Creed II! Pro gaming tip - take 10-15 years off - I've got a massive back catalogue of games that I can pick up for next to nothing and run on average hardware. I've already worked my way through the Witcher series (toying with the idea of taking a pop at Death March). I'm also working through the Far Cry series.

Not sure I'm quite as wowed by ACII as I expected to be having read lots of people saying that it's the pick of the series.I'm feeling more positive about it today than I was yesterday while I was banging my head against the terrible camera angles in the family crypt.

Probably a lot of nostalgia involved,
My favourite was probably the original, but I know if I went back to it now I likely wouldn't enjoy it as much just because of the limitations the consoles/engine/graphics had in that time period.

I absolutely loved AC/AC2 and maybe the first one or two sequels to AC2 but then dropped away from the series until getting Black Flag last year, and now I'm all in again

I don't feel like graphics made a huge amount of difference to me, anything mid 2000s onwards looks plenty good enough for me. If anything I've been surprised that the advance in graphics hasn't been greater in the intervening period; law of deminishing returns I guess. That said, Witcher 3 is the most recent game I've tried, so there are more advances to come that I've not experienced yet. My biggest complaint about older games is them feeling very 2d in terms of where your character can get to. Obviously this isn't something I could level at the AC games. I enjoyed the first game, but agree that it's pretty repetitive. Not helped by the fact that I'm a completionist. I didn't go as far as collecting all the flags though, and have no plans to snare all the feathers in AC2.

I also enjoyed Portal 2. I regret skipping the original, but was impatient having read the rave reviews. I might play it once I finish AC2. Either I was very bad at Portal 2, or others lie about their completion times and / or use walkthroughs. Wanting to do it under my own steam made it a bit frustrating at times.

id read a lot of people say Black Flag was one of the best so was really excited when it came out on switch....finished the main story but the open world aspect really was just the same think 500 times, stopped as soon as I finished the main story

also thought the main premise kind of undermined the series in a way...first scene an untrained sailor runs down a master assassin and beats him in a fight.....

Revelations was also fun, with the addition of making different bombs.

If I were to rank the AC games I've played from best to worst it would be:

AC Oddyssey
AC2 & Brotherhood
AC1
AC Revelations
AC Black Flag
AC Origins
AC Unity
AC3
AC Syndicate
