What book are you currently reading?

Shane Williams' Autobiography.

Nothing special to be honest. A timid read. No intriguing gossip about Welsh rugby.

Working my way through Grisham's books in French, they're surprisingly as easy a read in French as they are in English.

Laetca, if you're still interested in the police novels you could give the Morse series by Colin Dexter a go.

Morse is based on a book?? I will soon find out that every single television series on detectives ever shown was based on something written. Not so with CSI, they have "Books based on the series". It's hard not to giggle when you see copies of that next to real books.
I'll give them a try as soon as I find the time! Thanks for the tip :)

Anyone read those Twilight books here? My friends are literally addicted to them (It drives me f**king nuts how they go on about it every day - and I'm like, "WTF? WHY THE HELL ARE YOU STILL TALKING ABOUT THAT GODDAMN BOOK?!"); however I've just witnessed a 160 page thread on Rottentomatoes dedicated to bashing the movie (and the books), so I may consider not asking my friend if I can borrow it. That is of course, unless somebody can convince me (if they've read it) that it would be worthwhile to read it and the rest of the series...

I am reading "The Dark Tower" series again, I have just finished the 6th book in the series and about to read the last one again. Its just as good, if not better the second time around, and it passes time while sitting on the loo :D

after that I will get the new Bourne book by Eric Van Lustbauder, read his previous one and enjoyed that, i dont know where he will take the series this time after killing off all the main characters/bournes family/colegues in his last book.

What is the catch? I can't get prices like that on books that fit in my wallet, and I buy those with student's discount.

Second hand books? Someone vomited on them? Simply books no one wanted to read?
There must be something?

I once had to pay 2â'¬ for a tiny book of 60 pages, Bahnwärter Thiel. It's about twice the size of my mobile. And you bought two books for 40p? That's plain unfair :(

O I love AS Level English! I've been given The Bell Jar to read over half term. Fantastic.

The authors don't. But then they hate everybody.

Ahh yes, the plight of being an author.
You regard yourself as a "better" person than a scriptwriter, yet you don't get the money or lifestyle that the scriptwriters get.
When the scriptwriters are off doing ines of coke in CA, you're back in the dreary old UK and the only thing your publisher or agent does for you is get you book signings in Waterstones...which is quite conceivably a very tedious thing to have to do.

Especially if no one turns up.

No wonder they hate everyone; getting the raw end of the deal and all that!

Exactly! Rowling probably hates the day she decided to try and get her children's books published!

I maintain those books would never have been as huge as they are now had it not been for the movies.

1. Thanks for the potential spoilor.
2. I wouldn't but it past Sylvia Plath; committing suicide shows a lot about a person. <_<

1. I was joking.
2. I've never read it.
3. But tell me how it pans out, yeah?
4. ..... nope, that was it.
