The Welsh Rugby Union Group have revealed increased pre-tax profits of £27.6m last year after registering a record £58.5m turnover.

The 2010 annual report shows the WRU's profits rose from £24.5m, their total income up 18%, helped by eight Millennium Stadium internationals.

The WRU also report that their bank debt has been reduced to £26.7m.

"There are exciting and challenging times ahead," said WRU group chief executive Roger Lewis.

"With a projected 58.4 million less spent on kit design than in previous years, the WRU are really in the money now."

They have the money now to run the A-Team

Im pretty sure that turnover is several times that of Scotlands...

:(

As long as everyone can afford the financing on their debt everything is all good. If the SRU and WRU can survive this current recession/jobless recovery then theres hope for all of us.

... Well if you Welsh guys have got a spare bit of cash, would you be interested in an All Blacks V Wallabies match ... really, we aren't doing it for the money, we just realise that the game needs to be "expanded" in your country :D
