Welsh Rugby Stuff

Owen Watkin is nailed on starter I bet. It will all be about trying not to get pumped every game.

Its starting to look that way isnt it...certainly first 2 games, then try tonfind some shoots before throwing the kitchen sink at the wooden spoon decider, and declaring this 6N a massive success...

Then build more proactively in the summer.

Now im reading it out loud, not the worst strategy i suppose.

Not saying all these should be included, but thought I'd list some of the form regional players over the past few months who have missed out:

Dragons
Olly Burrows
Brodie Coughlan
Ryan Woodman
Che Hope
Rio Dyer
Angus O'Brien

Cardiff
Danny Southworth
Alun Lawrence
Callum Sheedy
Tom Bowen
Jacob Beetham (debatable)

Ospreys
Lewis Lloyd
Rhys Davies
James Fender
Morgan Morse
Ross Moriarty
Keelan Giles

Scarlets
None as far as I can think of. Odd they've got such a large contingent based on their performances and results!

How do people feel about this?

Especially Lydiate and Patchell, it seems a big jump straight to international and with the way Welsh rugby is going you feel more experience would be better, especially as they only seem to be temporary appointments again. Maybe they have both taken to coaching like ducks to water, but for me the optics don't scream stability.

It doesnt matter, with Sheratt dirrcting the attack Wales will play too wide too early, play too high risk rugby, and inevitably concede 50 per game. Its the Sherratt attack thats a large part of our problems, it leaves little to cover in case of errors, and well, whereas it scored points at club level it doesnt hold up under the kind of pressure you get at international level.

Oh and theyll be cheap, and do what they are told.

Thats a pretty sad list, i would like to see Morse and Bowen get squad exposure, as they are both talents, and arguably Bowen deserved a call much more than most backn3 players as hes the only player with any form (outside LRZ).

Moriarty, and Dyer can consider themselves unlucky.

Outside of those 4, none are pushing for a spot really, maybe Lawrence because of his stats, but would he replicate that while stepping up? I dont think so.

Hamer Webb was unlucky not to be picked whilst at Cardiff I though

Hes awful, hes a footballer, spades for hands, and no read for the game, most of his trys came from a Cardiff purple patch when they went on a run, and Webb ran in a load of tries. Clubman.

I dont think hes done anything at Leicester has he, came off the bench and played Prem cup, 0 points hes probably bottom of the Leicester pile.

Id much prefer to have seen Bowen, on fire for Cardiff, Rio Dyer who has caught some form, or even Beetham or Giles who all deserve a shot more.

Bit harsh on many imo, but my point is more that they have been in form, and stood out in some crunch derbies. Whearas the likes of Beard, Belcher, Botham, Elias, Francis (options are limited here), Lake, Plumtree, Gareth Thomas, Adams, Costellow (though very good Sunday), Jarrod Evans, Grady, Hamer-Webb, Hawkins, Murray, and Watkin have either been poor, injured, or not first choice for their regions/clubs.

Ye thats fair, Botham is lucky IMO, especially with Refell and Moriarty around.

Costelow, Adams, Evans, Hamer Webb, even Murray should all not be there for arguably some on that list.

I was hearing a lot of hype about Hope the Dragons 9, but my word he was atrocious on the weekend.
