Wales v. South Africa in DC

Surprise surprise, Rhodri Jones gets mullered in the scrum. He really isn't a tighthead!

Very lucky not to be an initial PT, but looking like Wales will be lucky to not concede one from the scrum here

SA 10 looks like he went to have a haircut but the barber left half way through, god knows how he thinks that is a good look.

Wales really aren't managing this yellow card period,
Too frantic, they look like they're chasing the game even though it's a draw with plenty of time left.
Anscombe needed to slow them down and get some territory not try and spin it wide on the backfoot in their own half

SA playing much smarter in the last 20. Playing territory and waiting for ball in the right places.

I wonder whether it'd be worth brining patch on for his boot

Considering Prydie could barely walk earlier I'm amazed he's not been on for a while now.

All I can think is whatever he had wrong with him that made them name two #22s has healed enough to have him there as a last resort but not enough that they want to really risk him

Yeah agreed. I think you pick horses for courses and Anscombe probably wouldn't have been 10 today in this weather. He doesn't play a territory game from the boot well, he plays a world class running game in a high tempo attack. In the long run, it's why he won't be first choice ten.

Ellis Jenkins has probably been the best player on the pitch. Fitting that he probably gets the turnover to secure the match.

Ellis living up to the hype, I'm obviously biased, but a lot of it is warranted. He's brought his club form to this level, I hope it continues.

Poor game overall but I though Cory hill stood out , hopefully a few have learned a lot out there tonight , great pressure for the winning try tbf, now time for some zzz

Terrible. Du Preez is not going to sleep tonight. This match hasn't helped me feel better about the Springboks.
As soon as he came on the boks attack lost shape.

One thing I saw that was super cool that kind of started happening in soccer 10 years ago was South African parents waking around in springbok jerseys while their kids wore USA jerseys. Hopefully it means USA is getting more support.

Wales possibly should have won with more to spare, but an unnecessary intercept, a 6 on 2 blown, and a needless yellow all put us under pressure, and we then really struggled to relieve it. In the end, we were maybe lucky to win, with a couple of calamities from SA handing us the win.

Really doesn't help when you don't really have a tighthead on the bench and the scrum turns into a guaranteed penalty for SA!

I stayed up for an intense match and got the opposite. Too much handling errors. Ivan van zyl threw the game for us, don't understand why we would kick the ball on the 50 meter line. In our own half sure but not on the halfway line where especially in the USA we need to run it a bit not only for tactical reasons but to entertain the crowd which i thought filled up nicely as the game went on.

Cant really blame du Preez too much, a lot of South Africans are solely blaming the loss on him but he only came on with like 7 mins to go so wont really call him out. Actually Janties surely must have also lost some reputation points.
