Well only the last few games has this happened really, Shanklin has started at 13 mostly every game this season. Laulala didn't even get to Cardiff until the ospreys game at new year really. Shanklin picked up an injury in that game and hes been a bit off the pace since.

To be honest, Shanklin has been off the pace most of the season due to his injury before the lions tour. With the lack of ball coming from Norton Knight, we had Roberts and Shanklin running crash ball and not being inventive at all. Roberts and Shanks are to much of the same player and we are much more dangerous with Roberts-Laulala combination or a Shanklin-Laulala combination hence the last few games Roberts has been starting.

As for the Scotland game - Why, oh why have they dropped Godman. I thought he was kept the Scottish backline going forward whilst he was on against France. When he went off they just used the 12 channel and were rubbish. It seems a bizzare move to me but suggests a conservative style of play from Scotland.

Cheers for that Bluemoon it just he a player who never lets you down and is a superb clubman too.

Hook, Bishop and Davies are all outplaying him for the red shirt (Actually, so is Ghomer-Davies at the Dragons.) and Laulala is marginaly beating him at the Blues, just because he's a more creative player. Man of the Match in three of his 6 games, plus two tries, isn't bad.

SO why does Gatland have so much butthurt over Andy Robinson wanting the roof to be open this weekend?

Furthermore, why is the BBC making it such a huge issue when nobody else is?

I know, i mean, if it was being played at Murrayfield they wouldn't be moaning about how they don't have a roof to close,
Just man up and play in the open air...

It is a bit wierd, they didnt kick up that much of a fuss when other teams have refused to have it closed in the past  . Bit daft really, just hoping Gatland isnt fishing for excuses in case we lose.

After England shut Gatland up last weekend I actually think he's rattled. I don't remember Jenkins or Ruddock kicking up such a fuss over the roof being closed.

Seriously though, nobody else is running with this as their headline story for Wales vs Scotland. I've trawled through Scrum.com, Planetrugby and the major national papers but only the BBC is banging on about it.

Is there a very angry Welshman at BBC Sport setting the agenda?

Found somewhere else:

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div>
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/rugbyunio...-escalates.html

Gatland said: "To me, at this time of the year, if it's dry on the weekend and it's sunny and Scotland want the roof open, I understand that.

"But if it is raining, I cannot understand why you would have a roof and not close it. I think we've got a responsibility to the game, public, media and sponsors that if it's raining and you've got a roof to be closed, let's close it.

"We need some sanity, so at least we can see some positive rugby. Why play in the rain and wet if you don't have to?"[/b]

Bawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.

They don't want to play in the wet?
Anyone would think they had Wasps on thier staff

Gatland is really doing my swede in these days. Spends too much time talking **** when he should in fact be sending a contract killer round Gareth Cooper's house.

Let's not forget who was boss at Wasps when they first got their rep for being old women...

Game kicked off. Andy Powell gives a penalty away after ten seconds. Sigh.

Shane Williams fecks up a definite try-scoring opportunity. Sigh.

John Barclay bounces off Cooper and Hook and scores.
