Wales v Italy

CYANIDE THEN!

Anyway, Wales played smartly and thats where they need pats on the back. How assured was that performance? Assuredly so. Like how a fifty year old bottle of Glenmorangie is assuredly expensive rather than a bottle of Stella Artois.

Anyone who thinks the ref was not impartial and in Wales' favour needs to lay off the Grappa and think about the amount of off the ball nonsense the Italians committed pretty much from the offset and got away with on many occasions as well as slowing the ball down.

the welsh performance was clinical. Just watching that second Shane Williams try now and he had a lot of work left to do when he received that pass.

Italy got tired towards the end and instead of playing a nice easy last 20, Wales turned the knife and didn't take there foot off.

As for the next two games, they need to start the game like they started the second half. They got away with being a little shaky at the beginning against Italy, but the French will not be so forgiving.

110% agreed!

He was poor and was just as poor as the ref we had this morning for our uni fixture game!

Mirco Bergamasco is an absolute twat, hes a typcial Italian footballer, a bully who hates anything that is done to him! The perfect example of this is on the penalty he got for silly play in the first half!

The no.5 should have been sent off for his stupidness on Stephen Jones with less than 10 mins gone on the clock! It was however nice to see him getting done in the rucks with the boots!

Anyway good solid performance from Wales and it was good to see Edwards and Gatlan smiling!!!

Don't forget his pathetic attempt at a tackle on Mike Phillips.

Also another thing that frustrated me today was that the Italians who came sat in one area of the stadium in a massive chunk!

It looked odd, usually fans are mixed together and not segregated and they acted like football hooligans :D

Although they chanted it did look strange for me!

How crucial is our really large win today? What with the French losing to England, could the championship now come down to points difference?? (Unless of course we beat Ireland and France)...

I was hoping for a big Welsh win and a small English win today because I can't see us beating Ireland at Croke Park. Now we need Scotland to beat England at Murrayfield... :)

Wales only need to concentrate on the Ireland game and nowhere else, win there and that's the ball game.

Contrary to the above pessimist, I feel that it is definetly possible for Wales to win against Ireland in Dublin - yes we do need to improve in some areas, like cutting down on the errors, but we can go out there and win. Does anyone know how many Welsh fans will actually be going. Remember when the 40,000 gang all migrated to Edinburgh for the 4th round Scotland match in 05 :p

Cymru am byth

Well given that we're still in with a shout of winning the championship ourselves I doubt too many Irish will be getting rid of tickets and besides Murrayfield has always been the easiest ground for away fans to get tickets to.

Surely the responsible thing for Ireland and France to do is just let Wales win the next two games so that England don't steal the championship? That's what matters, surely? :p

who's to say England will beat Ireland and you can never write off the Scots hunger in a Calcutta Cup match especially at Murrayfield.
