Wales v Ireland

you f***ing French wankers, they've stopped their coverage, jesus christ it's been 61 years and 24 years for the championship, you think they'd show us getting the trophy[/b]

Yep as usual, France Television is really desesperating. Whatever the match, final whistle, and back to the studio in the next 30s...Should I say they proclaim themself "channel of rugby"...

Congrats Ireland for the Slam
Fortunately, the slam was not in play for Walles, otherwise wouldn't have wished to be at Stephen Jones' place. Not taking the final 50m penalty is one thing, but causing the Irish drop by this direct kick to lineouts, definitely cost the victory for Walles

Fantastic end to the Six Nations season. Well done Ireland, very, very deserved through all the hard years of groundwork. Lets hope this helps propel the rest of the NH into action...starting with a Lions win with a mixture of Irish, Welsh, English & Scottish players - we can do it! :)

For Wales, yes, it's '4th' on points difference, but there have been some good patches, and I'm confident they can come back stronger and realise that its very tough.

Once again, congratulations Ireland! :)

admittedly my reaction was slightly over the top but gutting after all the wait not to see us get the trophy.

It is horrible for Jones to go through that but if that's what it takes then I'll grab it with both hands.

well that's an injustice if ever there was one, no way Wales have been the fourth best team in the championship.

Unfortunately due to the 4th, I'm going face a barrage of crap from schoolmates on Monday! :(

John Inverdale is still a twat.
"Oh by the way, because of this result, Wales finish fourth and this means that they miss out on half a million pounds in prize money. I don't think the WRU will be too happy about that but... Well." <_<

And England Second best! JOKE! Rock on!

Still coverage on network 2. You guys missed the best interview in the history of ever. The guy's hillarious!

Time to reflect;

Not a pretty game, (took long enough for the 1st points), but both sides fronted up well and put on a wonderfully tense and exciting game. Almost hollywood to the finalie for that match.

O'Gara, credit where it's due, put in a good 2nd half performance and the DG alone made up for every f*** up he's ever made in the past.
Jones, almost the hero for his DG, should hang his head in shame for the rush of blood to the head and punting it out on the full.
BOD inspirational as ever, deserved MOTM.
Bowe looked dangerous while Williams looked like a player whos best days are behind him.
Kerney didn't have a good day in the office.
Byrne going off was a massive blow for the Welsh
O'Connell was immense in the lineout and IS the Lions captain.

Well done to both side for a superbly tense and exciting game. Extra congrats to Ireland - they did it the hard way, weren't pretty while doing it, but the history books will only remember those 2 words... Grand Slam.

Now go enjoy a Guinness or 18.

Fells good. Feel sorry for Jones though. Also O' Connell's interview was fooking hillarious.

Will have to remind myself I'm in heaven when I wake up tomorrow. Could have been hell.

Job done. BOD now officially past the Georgie Best curse.

Kidney should stop being so mean with backline attack. Glad to see the crosskick used for the first time, but Bowe had to do better. Ireland should have been out of sight, but the stupid mistakes - veeeery lucky to take it.

Next season they will eat the minnows at home, bones and all. That includes Wales. England and France are bigger fish.

Have some class, the table doesnt lie. Anyway congratulations to Ireland if any team deserve it its them. If they hadnt won it today its hard to see them ever winning it. They are a mature team with leaders across the pitch. reminded me of Munster the way they did just enough. BOD and O`Connell were huge just when they were needed. Wales 4th. If you are a regular to this forum we have been told that they are the best team in the world and will provide the bulk of the lions team. ********. The bubble has burst.Great day. Well done Ireland.

Irish turned it over and WELSH HANDS were in. The Ref is quite literally the biggest f***ing retard I have ever seen.[/b]
17-4 penalty count against us in the end says it all.

Nice one. Personally I think he was fairly shite today for a lot of it ......... but he did it when it mattered.

The man is simply a Monster. Him and Hayes destroyed the Welsh linout. Stole four and made a complete mess of the rest of them.

Lulz at danny.
If anything, this result was the best thing for us. A right kick up the backside to take us off our high horse, as we've been doing too much talking and not enough playing during this tournament. 4th is harsh but it'll open the coaching staffs' eyes.

EDIT: Has any body at any point in the past year said Wales are the best side in the world? Enlighten me, please.

:DWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Make Kidney Pope, Taoiseach and any other signaficant posts you an think of.

BOD = GOD

POC = Lions Captain

ROG proved that he can take the pressure, even if he didn't play at his best.

Stephen Jones = Class act

Shane Williams = not so much

Onwards and Upwards now lads, 2 Irish teams in the HEC finals, a few Southern Hemisphere scalps in the Autumn and another Grandlam next year, not forget the business in SA this summer!

O'Callaghan warned early on. Any more like that and he'll be in deep ****.
Penalty to ROG early on though after ridiculous cynicality from Ryan Jones.
Misses though.[/b]

Don't overlook the psychology of that moment. Ryan, the school bully trips poor little Ronan in front of everybody, just to let him know if he trys everything funny, he will get the **** kicked out of him for 80 minutes. But out of nowhere Ronan's big brother Donnacha let's Ryan know if he does anything like that again he will die a painful death. Set up the next 80 minutes and a grandslam.

Boxing now on on RTE2. Some big fancy do with a bunch of big fights before some World Championship fight with Bernard Dunne.

But to the point. Shane Horgan's in the audiance! He should be out drinking!

D'Arcy's interview was hilarious as well, Wexford accent coming out thick there :lol:

I'm really happy for the irish friends, their nation really deserved this phenomenal Grand Slam.
Congratulations Ireland !!
