Wales and Cardiff Blues centre Jamie Roberts faces six months on the sidelines with a medial knee ligament injury, according to reports.

Well the Blues are ****ed :D. I hope Leinster win by a cricket score.

Could leave Wales a bit exposed though, i hope they give Becky a go.

Damn, would've loved to see him target Quade Cooper (or whoever would substitute for him on defense) with his battering running game. Also, I think 12 is the one jersey that isn't locked down for the Wallabies.

Wow hoping a region gets screwed over, classy.

I have heard people say that they want Cardiff Blues to get thrashed so they get the coaches go, and then somebody new can start afresh and reconstruct the squad

as for Roberts' injury, I don't actually think it's as big a loss for Wales as it would have been a year ago

Beck has arguably been playing better than Roberts at regional level and is deserving of a chance, he is a good replacement and it will be good for him to have a chance now

I hope Beck is selected above Scott Williams

This is certainly a blow, especially for the Blues. Wales will miss the physicality he offers, especially in defence, but with North and Cuthbert they can still target any weak defenders in the Ozzy backline in attack.

But this gives Wales an opportunity to give Beck plenty of gametime down under, and that's only a good thing for the future of Welsh rugby. Really excited to see what Beck can do on the international stage after a storming season with the Ospreys. I have a sneaky suspicion that Beck and Jon Davies will really compliment each other well.

Is it okay that I hope that Cardiff will get screwed over too? ;)

Big shame for him and for Wales.

Does mean Beck will be involved more in the summer, presumably with Williams as first choice 12.

Sooo, I'm guessing Cardiff Blues need a new 12...

a shame Henson can't fill in at 12 in the quarter final now actually, would have been a good opportunity to see how his form was

Dafydd Hewitt will be made to look poor playing against O'Driscoll

Duck knowing Baber they'll select Gavin "commitment" Evans!

Oright mate. I'm not gonna just support them because they're Welsh. It's clear that they are being badly managed, coached and run. I hope they get smashed so something is actually done, if they win it would be the worst thing for them

Step forward Ashley Beck.
Big loss, but the Aussies were able to somewhat handle Roberts.

Sort of unrelated, but heading over to Dublin starting Gavin Evans... Oh lord.

Able to handle Roberts because they had about three tacklers on him.

Yes, but it worked. I think Beck might have a few more tricks, and will take his opportunity. He has a great shot here, potentially become the Welsh 12.
Beck-Davies does seem to be an exciting combination on paper. We never really did see Henson-Roberts, unfortunately.

I really look forward to seeing Beck in a Wales shirt, however I think Gatland will select Scott Williams ahead for the moment

by the way, if Australia think they can hide Quade Cooper on the wing they have another thing coming :D

I don't think Scott is a 12. I prefer seeing someone like him in outside centre position.
For me, Beck is a more creative player than Scott. I see Scott as an impact player, great to bring on for 20 minutes or so.

From what I have heard, Beck was the option at 12 against Ireland if Roberts wasn't fit.
