PRESS RELEASE FROM THE WELSH RUGBY UNION:

Wales have called Scarlets lock / back row forward Aaron Shingler out to their RBS 6 Nations training camp in Gdansk, Poland.
Shingler, who is a Wales sevens international and featured in last year’s IRB world series, will join the 34-man party this afternoon (Tuesday) and train with the squad until it returns to Cardiff on Sunday.
The Hampshire-born 24-year-old is a former Glamorgan cricketer who grew up in West Wales attending Pontarddulais Comprehensive School and Gorseinon Tertiary College.
He joined Llanelli rugby club in 2007, before being promoted to the Scarlets regional side in 2009 to make his debut against the Ospreys in April that year.
His eye-catching length of the field try was instrumental to the Scarlets’ 16-13 Heineken Cup victory over Castres Olympique in France last weekend which secured their place in the Amlin Challenge Cup quarter-finals.

Aaron Shingler has been called into the training squad.
Surprised no one has mentioned it!

Yep, saw that. I was just surprised at the amount of posts over it.
Good move, rate him for the Scarlets, looking forward to seeing what he can do.

Apparently, Aaron Shingler's been called up. It's a bit hush-hush right now, so it wasn't me who told you alright?!

For Wales? I'm surprised Scotland hasn't tried to call him up yet

I didn't see Dull's post, which must have been fairly simultaneous with mine. Looking at the thread now I just seem like a massive dunce. Nothing new there, then.

Aaron is a good lad. Played for sevens so he is ours as well.
That being said, Scotland will try to make a play for Henson soon enough I am willing to bet ;)

Made it meself

So Preistland has pretty much been ruled out of the Ireland game. which means Hook will start at 10. who do we think will be called up to be on the bench? surely we can't risk not having a 10 on the bench?

If Priestland is just out for the one game - which isn't even 100%, Gatland has said he is "struggling" for the opener - then I doubt anyone will be called up. We'll just have to pin our hopes on Gav, after all he had a cracking game the last time he was thrust into fly-half out in Ireland....

Henson would likely be bench cover at 10.. not loads of experience there but he can play there..
