Wales fake injury plan

I think it's been blown up by the media

I don't think that Gatland would have ever done it - I think he was just trying to emphasise how bad a situation it was to lose both Adam and Sam early on, and now he's being investigated (or whatever) for basically using a controversial explanation :p

Gatland has undone all the hardwork that he set out to do by being a complete tool once again in the media.

Thanks Warren.

Someone should have punched James in the nose and broken it haha. Easy as, chuck a Davies in at prop, then use Faletau at openside, would have been a more exciting contest where Wales could actually use their Backs at scrum time.

I know he would have never done it, but he should have!!!
Its pointless IRB even looking in to it, Gatland was just being a passionate coach. Everyone wants to win at all cost, he just thought about bending the rules a little bit, he showed no intention to do it though.

What do the IRB want to prove, they can't kill him for thinking about it? He didn't do it who cares, might've been very clever to go uncontested but he :p.

I think it's quite refreshing to hear a coach come out and admit these thoughts went through his head, and it was discussed amongst the coaching team, very honest. It's a great thing that they didn't act upon these thoughts, as that would be against what rugby stands for. I think he's possibly done it to get the spotlight away from the red-card, because nothing can be done about that, and I'm sure he and the entire Welsh squad want to move on from it now, and this should distract the media. The IRB can't do anything about thoughts, and I have no idea what they're planning on looking into.

This!

exactly, he's just trying to explain how bad they thought the situation was

what exactly can they charge him with?

if another play stands on your hand your bound to think about knocking him out but you dont...normally...but is that thought slipping into your head now illegal?

6weeks bann! Could be a new IRB thing? I wouldn't be suprised ;).

It's a good plan, it's quite funny that Robbie Deans didn't think of it earlier...say 10 minutes into the semi-final...:D

I think if they were to charge him or WRU with anything it would probably be bringing the game into disrepute, just for the sheer fact of mentioning it - rather than the actual plan. It's weak but that's all I could think of.

No big deal, anybody may have cheating, or worse, in mind sometimes. Everybody dreams about killing his boss , few do it hopefully.

Dumb thing to say. He should have just kept his mouth shut.

Yes, just keep your mouth shut next time warren. All he's done is associate the Wales' performance in that match with cheating as all the headlines read "Wales Considered Cheating", not "Wales Played Fair".

This is just another thing to put nails into the IRB coffin, 2 years ago there were talks that the bench would increase from 7 to 8 guys to allow teams to include an additional prop to their bench and prevent uncontested scrums from ever happening, keeping every part of the game a contest of its own... What happened about that?? did they just forget about that? that plan was utilised in South Africa during the Varsity Cup and worked very well...

A police officer calls Warren Gatland over and asks why he was j-walking.

Warren Gatland replies "I was going to cross the street and stab someone to death...but I thought against it".

The really ironic thing about this? France have intentionally faked and injury to force uncontested scrums against the All Blacks once. Wales should have given them a taste of their own medicine

He did only think about it, the same as Wales thought about the drop goal :D the real crime was not going for the drop goal.

It's being tested in the NH, I imagine it is SANZAR's decision to not 'test' it here as well.

I'd like the call. It means you can have two specialist props on the bench at once, so 1. Tony Woodcock 3. Owen Franks 17. Ben Franks 23. Wyatt Crockett. That'd be brilliant for us.

We've been doing that up here for ages :p
16. Hooker
17. Prop
18. Prop
19. Lock
20. Backrow
21. Scrumhalf
22. Flyhalf/Centre
23. Backthree

Simples!
