URC Round 2 25/26

I can’t lie, I’ve been disappointed Cardiff haven’t been starting Lloyd at 10 but apart from his goal kicking Sheedy has done alright.

Lloyd has to take his opportunity when it comes. I’ll finally write him off if he doesn’t make any waves this season.

You are being converted hahahaha

I dont know what it is with Welsh rugby at the minute, but we seem to be trying to create a talent pool of Shane williams... everyone is 5'6 ffs

I always convert when the evidence changes my friend.

To be clear, though, I’ve still not written him off but it’s a massive season for him.

I dont think it is, his opportunity was at Cardiff a few years ago, he chose to go and utility it up behind a poor but loved Costelow, he isnt going to remove Sheedy from this Csrdiff team, even if he keeps hitting 0% at goal.

He’s still only 24 but I agree the years and years he spent as a utility back, among other things, hasn’t helped his development but he’s still young and playing in the position he wants to play.

He’ll get an opportunity, whether it’s through Sheedy getting injured or being rested and when it comes he needs to grab it with both hands. Sheedy has done well to be fair which is even better for Lloyd has he’ll know he has to really make an impact when he gets a shot. Well, in theory anyway.

Maybe... or maybe Ben Thomas will be embarrassingly shoehorned into the 10 shirt, tbh I dont know which would be better, a non 10 who looks lost or Ben Thomas hahaha

If he’s not being played when Sheedy is injured then something will be going on behind the scenes and if that time comes I expect you to keep your ear to the ground and keep me in loop.

I barely get down there on match days, let alone get involved with anything else these days, im essentially counting out the clock until we go 2 regions and I can give up my season ticket.

Would be funny if we got 3 regions in the top 8 and then they binned them off.

I wouldn't put any money on it obviously but Ospreys and Cardiff haven't started too badly.

Similar to last season though, Cardiff fixtures mean they have to get all their points before Xmas, and hope to sneak some LBPs after.

Also the weakened SA teams, and disjoint of the season starts benefits Cardiff.

Cardiff just keep building the smallest lightest team in the world, in the hopes some skill out the back can win games, but when it comes to the crunch they get overpowered in every aspect. You can get away with smaller players, but when your backline consists of Mulder, Sheedy, Thomas, Bowen, Winnett, Lloyd, Cabango... your going to get steamrolled. The bigger boys we do have, Millard, Jennings, Beetham aren't up to standard skill wise or physically.
