U20s 2020

Probably a red card for Hamer-Webb here,
Hit their 9 with a Lawes special but stupidly lifted the legs after the guy went head first into the ground (it wasn't even like it was a dump tackle that went too far - he lifted the legs after the hit. Completely unnecessary. He did try and stop his landing hard on the ground, but still...)

Edit:
Yellow card, they reduced it because he tried to stop him falling hard. Very lucky.
It'll probably be the difference - teams look mostly evenly matched. French pack better, English backs a bit more fluid - but both sides look panicked on attack throwing wild passes and offloads, and knocking on all the time.
Extra space could be the killer.

Edit edit:
Wow, Hodge is the real deal! Crazy try!

Intercept try for Roebuck!

Maybe we should play with 14 men more often

Bloody hell,
Game's drawn, we're attacking on their 22 and Manu tries a chip over the top and then we give away a penalty trying to compete at the ensuing ruck.

Edit:
He more than makes up for it with a fantastic snipe from the ruck that eventually leads to a try on the stroke of full time to win it

Great second half of rugby

Great finish. These U20 games are way more entertaining than the seniors.

England have some good talent this year espcailly in the backs.
15 you have Hodge and Steward who both rated highly.

I know more about Steward obviously, but Hodge has grown a lot in his year playing for Falcons

Gonna be tough when the Captain is a 9 but I hope Rafi Quirke gets a proper shot at some point this tournament - supposed to be the best scrumhalf we've produced since Wigglesworth (/Foden :p), up there with Alex Mitchell.

Judging from the photos on social media Carpenter has been recalled for the LV= semi final this weekend

A few changes from last week.

Ireland 31-7 Wales HT. No Richard Kelly, there are not many positives for Wales from that half, it was utterly terrible.

Only seen the last 20 minutes or so but a lot of good with some frustrating things.

England's Max Ojomah looks very impressive. Real whip of a pass, good reading in defense, and a strong physical unit

Im also quite impressed with Lewis Finlay from Ireland, he seems a classy act. Hopefully shove Dave Shanahan from Ulster books in a few years

Anyone watchin England v Ireland? Seems like it's going pretty well.

Imagine claiming to be a rugby fan and not watching Sale vs Leicester

I didn't realise we were playing tonight tbh, I thought u20s games were the day before the seniors so thought it was tomorrow night. Looks like we're getting a spanking

Same, I was too busy watching the pure excitement that is Ospreys v Leinster in a major wind and forgot this competition was even a thing.

Nothing gladdens my heart more than news a group of Irish teenagers beat the **** out of a group of English teenagers.
To be fair only sitting down to watch it, and I enjoyed their wee drop kick challenge before. Harry Mallinder is dressed like a pervert.
I reckon we may as well stop signing England Under 20s altogether.

I watched Wales U20's beat France U20's 14-11 in the heavy rain. Good win, if not the best-quality game given the conditions.
