TRF's UEFA Euro 2016

I'm quite liking this concept as a way to actually get weirdly involved in the tournament. It's like how having a little bet always makes a sport you don't follow more interesting, except without losing loads of money because i know **** all about the sport.

As I understand it my campaign started with a draw against @munstermuffin, after which instead of kicking the **** into each other we had a charming little singalong together and the watching world applauded, teary-eyed at the purity, innocence and humanity of the gesture.

Tomorrow I take on the might of @Thingimubob, who I gather is pretty good at football.

Good, but at odds with each other. You're team spirit could just be enough to sneak by with Thingimubob's egos clashing all over the place!

Croatia look in control enough and are 1-0 up. I'm switchng over to the SA 'A' team vs Saxons rugby now.

This is rediculous by the Croatian fans. Flares on the pitch and now fighting amongst their own fans.

For ****s sake guys... This is absolutely rediculous that people act like this

UEFA needs to put the warning to every team that If their fans do **** like this they are disqualified

What are the security measures outside of European stadiums, in the states you have to get patted down and go through metal detector?

Lol at an Argentinian taking the high ground on Hooliganism.

Fek me your Country has a crap record of violent behaviour at football games. Worse than England.

Also the Irish love in is getting on my ***s esp by Joe.ie (or whatever it is), nice at first but now so what? Obviously going for a historical back to back fair play award.

Also Croatian fans protesting the CFA, stupid idiots.

Only at club level. At national level South American football is pretty safe.

And regarding the irish fans, they're creative. They remind me a lot to argentine football fans in that way (not hooliganism but the jokes, songs, etc they come up with.)
Watched gaelic footie a few times at croke park and i couldn't stop laughing.

It's not just you. The circlejerk is UNREAL. I do believe we have fans that behave themselves very well abroad, of which I'm proud but the quack journalism sites churning out article after article entitled "look at the gas thing this set of Irish fans did, which isn't actually interesting". Literally videos of Irish fans picking up their litter went viral here. Plenty of great fans out there. Swedes looked a delight too.

So if UEFA are consistent they'll get a fine and a suspended disqualification. It does reach a point where you ask, how many more warnings do they have to give

Please the Irish Nick half their stuff from the English fans (bar the Actual Irish stuff)

Yeh I think a lot of the Irish are getting annoyed by it, I'm waiting for a video of an Irish fan holding a door for a French fan to go viral. I just find it cringey now.

I've been to a few footie game in England. Took a pillow with me and set the alarm at 90 minutes.

Nah. You might have an isolated incident here and there but when the national team plays we're pretty tame. Quite loud but hardly dangerous.

Must have seen United or Chelsea play then.

Didn't 5 people get killed in 2010 World Cup? Granted I think they where fights amongst the argentines but it is a stretch to say it is safe.

i mean over 500 deaths in 50 60 years

The only one i can remember was a guy who got killed in RSA 2010. He was actually killed by other Argentines. Pretty sure they were from rival firms.

Just to put it in blunt terms. I'd bring expat friends to an Argentine game, no problem. I don't think i would if my club played.

Although, truth be told, maybe i'm used to that and just have a different definition of what being safe means. No big deal

The club hooligans don't attend national team games in argentina, that's why there rarely are incidents in them. However they used to attend world cups to show their power to other hooligan groups or whatever, in 2010 they made some incidents but for 2014 they were banned for the most part and not much happened with them.

why is this? are national team games more expensive or are they just not interested?
