Wow. A good player going to Connacht. Is Stanley a moron or something?

Hes actually one of the sharpest guys playing the game haha, he famously turned down all rugby academy offers when he left school to focus on getting his university studies out of the way. Hes a very sly operator and has always maintained that being a rugby player is only a short term situation in the scheme of a lifetime, i wouldn't be at all suprised if there is something external to the contract that is drawing him to connacht (future coaching/behind the scenes opportunites, buisness ventures in the area etc)

As for Conrad, hes said that his agent is canvassing opinion all over the show but hes too busy with concentrating on the Hurricanes and preparing for the world cup to really take any offers seriously at this stage. That was the week before he was sidelined mind.

I'm pleased at this development.

Word has ihe recently signed new deal Bullit. Any word on length. I presume he realised he probably won't make Irish team and has as much a chance of achieving in Northampton than in Ireland.

Surprised with Payne, Stanley or McAllister, all three could profit of the post World Cup exodus and become regular All Blacks.

So Ulster next year

15. Payne
14. Trimble
13. Spence
12. Wallace
11. Trimble
10. Humphries
9. Pienaar
8. Wannenburg
7. Faloon
6. Ferris
5. Muller
4. Touhy
3. Afoa
2. Best
1. Court

What's with everyone having two Trimble's at the moment? :D Anyways, Craig Gilroy is fairly handy on one wing, drop him in there somewhere. I'm also up for seeing some combination of Spence and Cave in the centre. Maybe it's just me, but Paddy Wallace has been pretty much for quite a while now.

All correct except locks other way round, Muller 4 Tuohy 5, also wont be surprised to see McAllister start more games at loosehead as well. You also have Trimble in twice, it will be Trimble 14, Gilroy 11, unless we get Jane as well as Payne, in which case Gilroy would probably be who loses lose out.

****, the whole point of me writing out the team was to put Jane in, stooopid, Ulster could be a serious team if they had a proper coach.

Some dispute as to whether or not Ulster are still lining Jane up, some seem to think that Payne was signed instead and the Irish club now being linked with Cory Jane is Munster. Id be surprised myself, Conrad Smith or Ma Nonu would be far more likely targets for Munster.

Ulster fans on other sites think Jane might of overestimated how good his option were when he turned Ulster down a few months back.

Benson Stanley is an old rumour at Munster but it still uncertain if there any truth.
Jane would be a good signing for Ulster but I'd fear they depend on too many non Irish guys to be leaders and talents like Gilroy will be omitted

They do have a decent coach. McLaughlin has got the best out of them this season and they play good rugby. They need forwards instead of any more backs.

Frédéric Michalak - Biarritz, Lyon OU, Bayonne and some Super15 sides interested.
Felipe Contepomi - Stade Francais

No Payne at 13 next season hav u seen him play there for the blues in the super 15, he's been absolutely brilliant and very important in a very powerful blues backs division this season, he's keeping a certain all black named Stanley (who's apparently signing for Connacht next season) on the blues bench this season.
