Transfers rumours

Niall Morris ------------> Leinster

TBH that's a rumour that has and will happen every contract renewal.

Only way I see it is if Kirch goes, Morris sees himself more of a FB that can play wing rather than the other way round.

If Kirch goes I'm sure Leinster have truck loads at same level as Morris there already

That's what I think.

It's just journo putting 1+1 together, and looking for a story imo.

Has a lot of potential but then so do loads of other in Ireland.

Been honest it's Munster that usually sign backs like Morris and Leinster sign forwards back. But I think that Leinster academy is excellent coming through so he mightn't be required. He's a good player but at same level as Johne Murphy was I'd say.

Fair comment, having seen both play a lot at Tigers they both fill that role of not quite a out and out winger, not quite an out and out Fullback, which is how we like one of our wingers to be.

Out of the to I prefer Morris but only just. (a big fan of both at Tigers).

Don't get me wrong both are excellent squad players. Murphy yes obviously declined a bit but when he was with Tigers and start for us he was very effective.
But I can never see Morris get in a fully fit Leinster back line.

Murphy was your best back for most of last year!

Tigers have a knack of either picking really good players out of relative obscurity or of turning really average players into really effective ones.

@BG8 he certainly was when played on wing and admittedly we used him wrong putting him 13 but he still is just a squad player and very effective 1 too.

@Cmac yes he'd be step up on Fanning but my point is as you say Morris is really in mix at Tigers 1st team would he come back to maybe get few Pro12 games and maybe euro games if there's injuries. I can't ever see him being a regular for Ireland so don't think international fold will be issue.

@Rats Leicester have knack of identifying guys strengths and using them to their max effectively.

Brad Thorn --------> Leicester as Mafi replacement.

Jesus our second row depth is pretty strong:

Slater
Parling
Kitchener
Thorn
Deacon
De Cheves

I'm guessing push comes to shove Slater will cover 6.

6 depth

Croft
Gibson
Matera

If Tigers win the Premiership this year he's got to be the most decorated man in rugby surely?

I'd really like to have Morris back. I think people have a habit of overrating our options out wide. If Zaaaane heads off next year we're left with McFadden, Luke Fitz, the two Kearneys, Fanning and SCM. At least one of McFadden or Fitzgerald will have to play in the centre with D'arcy likely to retire, possibly both. Fanning is muck and while SCM shows loads of potential he's massively untested at this level. There's definitely room for Morris in that set up, and with a much bigger roll than some of you guys are imaging.

Lyon, disappointed not to get Adam Jones (one of the nicest men in Rugby), are apparently interested in a few Wallabies post-2015. At center AAAAC, and then also Will Genia at half the scrum, or more habitually, scrumhalf.
They're one of the bigger budgets in France, even though they've only just returned to Top 14 after some time in Pro D2, and already have some serious injuries after Day 1.

Would love it if Genia went to France after seeing every Bath fan and his dog going on about how he's essentially already signed for them.

yep Lyon are building big and are potentially another Toulon in the making.

Dont you have that young lad Price who is about 6'10 coming through aswell. Think he was at Nottingham last season (i may be wrong..)
He looks like a beanpole but ive been told the tigers are beginning to beef him up quite a bit now...
