Madigan ---> Bordeaux confirmed

http://www.leinsterrugby.ie/news/14419.php#.VoFI0BWLTIV

Looks like Munster are even more ****ed at 10 for next year if they don't sign anyone.

This news has come and all you can think about is Munster? This is worse than anything else that has happened this season, this is worse than watching ****ing Scar kill Mufasa when I was three years old. Madigan epitomised everything that was great about Leinster, old school and new, and he won't be with us next season! This is the end of the Leinster we know and love, mark my words.

Just for you babes xx.

In all honesty it's best for all involved. Leinster get to see what Marsh and Byrne are made of and Madigan gets to most likely start in a team that play his style of rugby.

Great move for Ian Madigan. He's not going to supplant Jonny Sexton at Leinster and has both Cathal Marsh and Ross Byrne coming up behind him. Spend time in a different culture, earn a stack load of money, start more often and in two years time when his deal is up, he'll be in the prime of his career and primed to earn another fat contract. It's a shame that he hasn't yet fulfilled his promise having wasted a couple of years under the tutelage of Matt O'Connor.

It's a great deal for all concerned I agree. Madigan is right to not come to us BUT I must raise the question what does this say about Nucifora. Madigan was offered a decent deal to join us but it didn't materialise.

It says nothing about David Nucifora. Ian Madigan took a better deal elsewhere as he's perfectly entitled to do. We need to wait and see what else happens before judging the Aussie. Single moves can't be taken in isolation. I remember Ulster management being criticized a few years back when Isaac Boss departed for Leinster (2010) and BJ Botha left for Munster (2011). Better options were brought in on each occasion (Ruan Pienaar and John Afoa).

We'll see when all signing have been announced if the redistribution of talent helps Ireland's depth.

But he was the most active man in the negotiations. I won't slate him as I don't have all the facts BUT I do have strong reservations about him. Madigan was right to do what he felt was right for him. I've no issue with him at all.

I'm not denying this one bit. Madigan got a better deal elsewhere, that's all. There could be a whole myriad of reasons. Without wishing to kick a team when they're down, if you were an attack minded flyhalf, would you want to go to Munster given the present state of their back line?

From what I've heard Munster was never really an option for Madigan. If he couldn't stay with Leinster he was going to look for wherever the best situation was.

Fair point that the whole needs to be seen but Nucifora has less options than the Ulster management ever had; if he wanted there to be a top IQ fly-half at Munster, there's really not a lot of options bar Madigan. Closest you'd get is Steenson and he's contracted until 2018.

If there is a plan to share the wealth in Ireland, players like Madigan are exactly who needed to be kept. Next big test for him would be where Payne/Olding/Marshall end up next season.

That is accurate. And end bit I whole heartedly agree. He'd be mad coming here given current state. But I do again mix Nuciforas track record in player management among others as a reason on I'd love to know was everything done. Again regards Madigan a career is short so make it while you can. Better lifestyle and in a way less pressure. I expect Zebo to follow for sure.

It's telling that Andrew Conway has been getting a run at 15 for Munster instead of Simon Zebo. I think Zebo is a better player than Conway but if he's leaving, they may as well invest the time in the Dublin born player and leave the Corkman on the wing.

On that Snoop your assessment is good. But in fairness Conway is playing superbly at 15 consistently for us. Both are deserving starters and I wouldn't argue if they were swapped.

It's a little ridiculous, ain't it?

le sigh....

Denton wasn't the greatest idea IMO - just not what Bath need.
An in form Leroy is awesome, but for some reason he either hasn't been used that effectively, or isn't playing that well.

Dynamic carrying from the back row is definitely something that has been lacking for Bath this season.

Would have been nice to see Mafi with the Sunwolves - but I'm certainly not going to complain about seeing him in the prem.
