The resulting 'debate' over one word that is probably not the most accurate but for my 2 cents apt if you take into account the relative squad strengths and expectations is pure semantics and a little bit precious IMO.

Unfortunately I have other things to do with my life and although I would like to watch every minute of the 7 league games every week, that kind of stretches me.

Considering the Toulon XV that was put out the result against Oyonnax was a big loss. Maybe I could have used 'trumped' instead, but then I'm not paid for these reports, just my interest and love of the game pushes me to write, so I'm not perfect all the time.

Maybe you could find someone kind enough to give me money for my time and effort so I wouldn't mind putting up with your bull**** whenever I use a word you disagree with.

I can understand where you are coming from, my comments on the word Trounced i thought were correct but they were never considered to be derogatory, just a personel thought that the comment was a lttle harsh as not only Toulon but, Clermont Castres and Biarritz have all gone down at Oyonnax. I also write articles on all Montpellier's games in english on the clubs site and use my own time and effort with no money, but was a little shocked to say the least, at the bucket full of comments pointing in Tony's direction this morning.There are plenty of people who need bringing to order on this site for derogatory comments and i do not think Tony is one of them, he brings more to the table than he takes!!!!
I think if cyRIL wants to write reports thats excellent, i wil read them with added interest and if an apology is necessary then he has mine, but there was never any intention to do any damage to him whatsoever.
There thats my bit, it is over and done with as far as i am concerned

As for the follow up comments, Tony should of pm'd Cyril to check before making that comment. Unfortunately sarcasm doesn't work on the internet and can be misunderstood. A blog is an editorial, it's the writers own opinion you may not agree with it, but that's where comments come in, you can discuss and disagree with their opinion, but never criticise the person who wrote, and ensure you evidence to argue your point.

I think the PM is being underused on this forum. I only get PM's from mods usually.

Lastly, and I don't know if this is the correct thread, but it certainly adds value to what has already been said. I get the feeling that recent newcomers have a tendency to be overcritical, and unbeknownst to jabs of humour and sarcasm. the saying goes: "Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit". But it's nonetheless still a form of wit. Which has a tendency to be seen as offensive and unrelated methods to derail threads. I know there isn't such a thing as a sarcasm font, and that most people get it, but for instance, our french comrades seems to miss the subtle hints of joking we throw at them and often go on attack.

Just my point of view. And anyone is welcome to disagree with me. It's after all a forum.

CYril......if there is an apology to be made then I am sorry. My comment was not sarcastic, ironic or any othe ic......i applaud the effort and like everyone welcome the invaluable contribution. I have enough to do on this Forum to rant about Blanco without turning on felllow members without any call to do so!! Amazing how honest words can be so twisted......

Sorry for delay but been travelling on family business otherwise would have tried to kill this silliness sooner.................but both of us find out our friends at times like this!!
