Top 14 Day 5

They did not go for the tie because, they went for the bonus point with 7/8 mins to go in front of the sticks and Flood missed it, they then went for the draw with several scrums and penalty touches but they screwed up every time, the last penalty was given on the hooter, so they had to take that as they had been pounding the Clermont line for the last 10 minutes but with no results. they were very ineffective and Clermont played the best rugby although it was a very poor match
As far as my predicktions go 22 on the trot is not a bad effort and i did say this match would be very close , but yes my first mistake of the season not bad for its the 5th day. Toulouse would be very happy to have made only one mistake this season n'est pas!!!!!!!!! As i said earlier 35 years since they had 3 defeats on the trot!!!!!

You may be the guru of predictions but I can recognise a team that is in decline!!! Read my posts on Toulouse for the last two seasons.....!!

Noves has to go and the whole staff shaken up......they should go for Galthie!!!!

Firstly they can't afford Galthie and his next move is not sideways or westward, but up north my son!!!!!!!! but only after we have won the Bouclier.!!!!!!!!!!

Ah, I see we are leading at half time. Good, already had losses for the Springbokke and Western Province today. And I see Clermont won out over Toulouse. It took a lot for me to go against Gastonidus' call on that one. What I don't see is Johan Goosen for Racing. Is he injured or are the Racing selectors retarded?

EDIT. We're up 12 points. Why go for poles when another try could give us a try bonus point?! (3-0, right?)

EDIT. Not looking too good 2nd half. Man, Racing should be doing much better. Just no flow or rythm.

EDIT. Wow, 2 quick tries at the end there. Glad for the BP.

Do Toulouse have big south sea islander type 13 that main job is to put people on there arses.

If not they should invest in someone. Flood plays flat and needs a straight hard runner to draw defenders away to provide more time.

Go on Tigs.................tell Noves how to run his team!!!!

Truth is some one needs to!!

I would have thought McAllister would be ideally suited to that role with the size of his thighs but there is also Yann David?

Now then......are we going to see a classic Toulon performance or will they be c*ap again?

BE watch Lakafia....he has put weight on but retained his speed........he will be the 8 for France come RWC!!

Win for Stade as Toulon miss 20 points from the tee and no Giteau they looked a mess, a total mess!!

Clermont was there for the taking .

We had one try denied and Flood missed a sitter. Tis a game we could/should have WON.

Now we have a problem with our props. The scrum was all over the place but the lineout was not much better and traditionally we have a good lineout.

There is very little btw the 2 sides. It was very cagey at times.

We will not win the Top 14 playing like that. I said early August I could see the team stuck in the 2nd half of the table after winter. This prediction is looking increasingly likely.

there's many Toulousains who don't cut it any longer. And on current form who are not good enough to make the XV de France. Dusautoir is one of them. Maestri Huget Medard & Co need a holiday.

Bastareaud's a class act.
Storming off to the changing room to sulk straight after the whistle without shaking hands with anyone or anything.

What the he'll is going on Toulon go down at home!!!!!!

I told you about those apostrophes Gaston..................!!

Without Giteau they are effing useless and totally disorganised.

JOC is NOT a 10................

I agree Tony, Lakafia showed some power, offloading skills...a good no.8.
Well gaston's second mistake on the weekend, the bill's getting a little bit heavy mmm ???....

Toulon are on a low, Paris on a major high and have shown some of their beautiful attacking shape they've had this past couple of seasons, the first half scores were beautiful.
Michalak, I hope you will agree this time, had an awesome game. As soon as he came off, Toulon was missing spark on attack and a goal-scorer just as bad. Loads of injuries, guys playing out of position, not too worried for them...although it's the second straight very sub-par performance, and their top men have been saying pretty worrying things lately...
Very good dynamic for Stadium Francium.

I think after watching the game and most of Floods game this season he is too flat, he may have to change his game plan as he rarely crosses the gain line so with drift or inverse defences its not difficult to defend again. Time in the TOP 14 is something you do not have, he needs to give himself more space and attack the gain line, if he is to be successsful, as a runner he lacks power, is tackled too easily. Needs to improve his place kicking although he did get the bonus point he missed an absolute sitter in front of the posts to secure the bonus point with 7/8 mins to go, which could have given Toulouse the chance to win the game.

Yes Gastons 2nd mistake but i don't think i was on my own with declaring a win for Toulon, they played well in fits and starts but so may wayward passes knock ons in abundance and we are not even going to mention the goal kicker,!!!! well yes we are!!!!!!!!!
2 misses from Armitage, Connor, Escande and Micklak missed one i think bloody awful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and Plisson kicked well + a drop and Danty was an absolute hero , Stade were yellow carded in the last few minutes which was very severe but they deserved their win for sheer commitment, and as someone mentione Brave Basto, for exiting without a handshake to the victorious opposition just shows how extremely good a sportman he is !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But that was some weekend in the TOP 14 and Montpellier this afternoon but as i have employed my Joker no more mistakes this weekend but in Politictians words thats nearly 72% correct and thats more than YES or NO votes in Scotland, + the first mistakes of this seasons TOP 14,( 22 match predicktions without a mistake) i am now in the same bag as Montpellier, Toulon, Toulouse, Clermont, Castres all having lost at home only the 2 parisian teams Stade and Racing have thier home record intact as far as the big guns go, and of course not forgetting Bordeaux but they could be shedding a tear or two after this afternon!!!!!!!
(I HOPE) !!!!!!!

Goosen is injured thats why he was a no show but don't think its too serious, could be contesting next week!!!

here's another team that is still unbeaten at home: LA ROCHELLE. Ici, ici c'est La Rochelle, damn right is, goddamn !!...
Fortress Oyonnax impregnable yet, and Grenoble have defended their home ground ardently also. Lyon also perfect. The 'smaller' teams commit to defending their house more than others, and it's a thing of beauty. La Rochelle says: "What's that ? Castres sending a near-full squad ? BAM, 40 pts in your face, now get the hell out of here and don't you ever show your mug again !"

Plisson was good from the T, and what a drop goal, very, very clutch from the young man. One of the penalties he kicked was from about 50m, and he BARELY takes any momentum, just two small steps and the ball made it way past the posts. WHAT a boot on that guy.
Danty is going to be a superb player, mostly based on the fact that he can really, really pass. He's not just another Jamie Roberts/Bastareaud crash center, he's a true inside center first, and he's got some good bulk to go with that. Can also use his foot well. One of my favorites in the championnat.

And Goosen may be promising and all that, but he's made a number of big mistakes that game against Clermont, so injured or not Racing ought to be reluctant giving him too much playing time regardless. Yes it's just one game, but he just didn't look trust-worthy.

I barely log on and Montypellier have already conceded a try, eh ??...Tony you watching this ?? and gastonistischendungenbach, you cringing already, mm ??

no still 40 mins to go and every chance in the world, but to be honest we would be happy with just the win confidence still ousing from le Gob de Gaston !!!!!!!

agreed, still lots of opportunities for Bordeaux to get that attacking bonus..I salute your lucidity about this gaston, you who are usually so MP-biased..

Bugger........forgot it was on as de-boning a leg of lamb to butterfly for dinner!!!

18-11......they are my team this week i feel.well they start BO!!!
