CASTRES VISITING LA ROCHELLE

10686750_729852847081412_8879236732959055608_n.jpg

They're going there to get a result, looking at who they're bringing. Front row still with a million injuries though, will not be fun in the scrum.

difficult one this one although La Rochelle have home advantage thats not a bad Castres line up but they may suufer with their front row, which is not that brill, Fa'anunu will not stay the pace and La Rochelle have a massive pack . I think Gaston will be putting his money on La Rochelle but that is later!!!!!

yep, toughest one to call for the w-e, I reckon. Again Castres aren't coming for just a swim in the Atlantic with that squad but La Rochelle at home have that smaller club's unbending perseverance and brutal aggressiveness, Toulouse will testify. VORACIOUS. But the C.O. can't afford too many more losses, and would love to pick this one up. Very tough call.

Well people here is Gastons predicktions for this weekends TOP 14

Home wins for Toulon, Bayonne, La Rochelle, Oyonnax, Racing Metro. thats the easy ones!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Toulouse but only just against Clermont who could come close but not close enough.!!!!!!!!!!!
and now the big one, of course i have to say Montpellier, we have never lost in Bordeaux since they joined the Elite, but we have never played against them in Chaban Delmas, always in Moga, whether this will make a difference not sure but it's an advantage for BB, bigger crowd!!!!
So this will have to be Montpellier for the only away win but with a Joker attachement which would obviously keep us in Numero Uno!!!!!!!!! but we have to wait till Sunday ko 14.30.

Wow 1600 posts,and 9,000,000 (!!!) must be an omen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wouldn't 'Losing bonus point' be a more reasonable assumption? 'Le' seems non-specific; he does state he thinks the team would lose but it could still mean they get a BP for 4 tries even though it's rare in NH rugby for a team to score 4 tries and still lose by 8+.

I am going to have to watch the Racing game on Monday again. It is on in baby bath time which is less cute and quick than the words would imply. If anything Monty Python's 'confuse the cat' sketch run in a loop would be more descriptive.

You shouldn't have said 1600 posts. I simply said double post and Big Ewis went and spent 5 minutes on photoshop. Now you are going to keep the poor guy busy till the first games' kick off!

I am going to go out on a limb here and go against your predictions. Two of them to be precise;
Clermont and Bordeaux to win in clsoe matches... of course I say this flippantly since I have nothing tou louse.

I think he is using a french sort of thing as its the Top 14, not sure you are up to speed with the bonus point for the tries its not 4 tries in the TOP 14 its the difference of +3 eg 3-0 or 4 tries to 1 etc, the UK use the 4 try system but both teams can score 4 tries each and each can get a bonus point where as in France its not possible and the matches go all the way to the wire, team leading 3 tries to 0 tries and the 0 tries teams scores in the last minute , happens often, if the other team does not score the bonus point is out of the window!!!! The defensive bonus point is now by 5 was 7 last season but they changed it for this season so much harder now but you can win the game by scoring 7pts now!!! Different

Ah, thanks for the info. So many champioships use 4 tries and a 7 point margin (ALL of them in the SH uses it) I suppose I didn't even consider it might be any different. Some things make sense now.

The team to play Bordeaux Begles Sun ko 14.30 the tight head prop Emiliano Coria is the medical joker for David Attoub, he only arrived last week but has 3 caps for Argentina, with the injuries in the front row and Nico Mas on hols this is our best line up available, but the rest looks fairly solid, with a pretty good bench, we are under no pressure going there the pressure is all on THE HOSTS.

1. Misha NARIASHVILI - 2. Mickaël IVALDI - 3. Emiliano CORIA - 4. Robins TCHALE WATCHOU - 5. Thibaut PRIVAT - 6. Ben MOWEN - 7. Alexandre BIAS - 8. Alex TULOU - 9. Benoît PAILLAUGUE - 10. Gaston right again...................half time LaR 19 - 9 Castres and deservedly so.............not great but their defence is huge and Castres are totally unorganised which is a surprise as Milhas is their coach!!!!

Can LaR score another couple of quick tries please so I can go over to Quins match!!!!

Thank you Bobo.....................makes it 26 - 9 with great opportunistic try.......................

34 -16 after 72 minutes and it is Castres not La R that look like relegation candidates at the moment............but then again, plenty of room for Castres and Toulouse in Pro 2!!!!

41 -16 at end!!!

Some interesting games out of those I will go for.

Castres (LBP for La Rochelle though)
Toulon
Toulouse
Bayonne
Oyannax
Racing

There youl go my predictions for Round 5.

Tigs Man i would stick to the day job if i was you, your predicktion was crap La Rochelle to get the L B P as you so put it
score La Rochelle 41 Castres 16....... 5pts for La Rochelle Castres Nil points........... we wont even worry about the other 6 games. You should listen to Gaston!!!!! he got it right again!!!!!!!

Excellent game from La Rochelle defense tight, attack useful and Bobo just magnificent 80mts try in the last min. to get the attacking bonus point, and Antonio not too shabby for a 140 kgs prop he moves well and did nearly the whole match coming off with just 10 to go, excellent crowd around 15,000 hope they stay up need more oysters going end of Oct, to see my mate Rassie V.V. if Bayonne win today against Brive Castres are in 14th which is a little surprising although i did say thay they will not ge in the TOP 6 this season.

Toulouse 6 Clermont 6 at half time but Clermont doing all the attacking the Toulouse defence holding strong Toby Flood playing much beter than previous game, anybodies game but Toulouse need the win if it's only to keep Montpellier on top!!!!

We hear you alright Gaston......................... and today all bets refunded if Flood scores 20 points....yes, all bets refunded!!!

Toulouse go down at home 9-13 Toby Flood misses a sitter in front of the posts then puts one over to get the bonus point after the siren had gone, and Gaston makes his first mistake in 22 matches but a good run!!!! What the hell is going on Toulouse lose at home that is 35 years since Toulouse have lost 3 matches on the trot. so Clermont go top for the while on 18pts.

You may be the guru of predictions but I can recognise a team that is in decline!!! Read my posts on Toulouse for the last two seasons.....!!

Noves has to go and the whole staff shaken up......they should go for Galthie!!!!

well maybe not all that much, I reckon Toulouse just lost to Clermont and you got that WRONG gastoin (read 'ouin') !
Toulouse going for the defensive bonus point at the end in stead of the tie because they knew they had no attack to penetrate Clermont's defensive curtain...a little bit scary isn't it ? Novès really needs to look at himself long and well, clearly Toulouse could be doing much better given the players they have...stubborn old man.
Toulouse always tend to look the same way: try to overpower their opponents with their huge players, eventually their backs will start making breaks because they're that good individually, but no Gear this year. Just one glance at Clermont this afternoon and their attacking shape and then one glance at Toulouse and theirs, the one is structured, clean, spacious, the other jerky, inconsistent and too direct/spontaneous, too little thought behind.

And boy are La Rochelle for real at home this season...certainly more intimidating than Toulouse at Wallon at least...second time they smash a Top6 club with 40, in a row..
